Many years ago, the three goddesses, Din, Nayru, and Farore, descended upon the world and they used their powers to create the land of Hyrule. In their wake, they left a symbol of their power, the Triforce, in a sacred realm, which came to be known as the golden land.
Many more years later, Ganondorf Dragmire, the king of the enchanted thieves, found an opening to this realm and attempted to seize the Triforce for himself. Many battles ensued and many fell to Ganondorf’s awesome power.
Soon seven sages were gathered to seal the entrance to the realm so that Hyrule would no longer suffer. After many battles, they were successful and sealed Ganondorf inside the golden land. The battles of this time became known as the Imprisoning War. Hyrule then faced many years of peace and prosperity.
Many years later, disasters plague the land. A mysterious wizard called Agahnim appeared and, using his magic, halted the peril and became the hero of the people. He gained favor with the king due to his miracles and became one of his most trusted advisors. An ominous cloud soon fell upon the castle. The seven maidens, each a descendant of a sage, have disappeared one by one. Only one remains, Princess Zelda.
One night, a young boy named Link is awoken from his sleep by a mysterious voice. “Help me…My name is Zelda…I am in the castle dungeon”. Intrigued by this call for help, Link steps out into the rain, and travels to Hyrule Castle. And so the legend begins…
