Graphics = 8.5 out of 10 Graphics are about as good as they come for the Game Boy, but they could’ve been brushed up. The characters in my opinion didn’t have enough different characteristics that you can identify them by. In DX the color graphics help out the graphics and such.
Sound = 10 out of 1 The best sound effects and music for the Game Boy so far. This aspect of Link’s Awakening does not disappoint. No tacky music either. Link’s Awakening followed through with the great music and sound effects of its predecessors.
Control = 9.5 out of 10 Seeing as you can only really move in four different directions, it is pretty easy to maneuver. The only thing I can find wrong with the controls is when you use the Pegasus boots, it gets annoying to control.
Gameplay = 10 out of 10 Couldn’t find anything wrong with the gameplay really. The dungeons gradually get harder, and the flow between the dungeons is awesome. The puzzles aren’t too easy nor too hard. I say that the gameplay is flawless.
Replay = 10 out of 10 Another perfect aspect to this awesome game. The game to me is actually addictive. I have played this game all the way through at least 30 times. It is one of those games you can’t get enough of. This is an ideal game to take along on a vacation, I often play it in the car, seeing as it isn’t a super long game.
Fun Factor = 7 out of 10 Yes, only 9 out of 10. Although I have beaten this game umpteen times, after the fifteenth time of playing it through, it gets boring.
Overall = 9.1 to 9.4 One of the best Game Boy games out there so far. The fun factor is its only real downfall. Replay, gameplay, control, sound, all of these aspects of the game are above average.
