Rift on Holy Mount Lanayru

The “Rift on Holy Mount Lanayru” quest begins as Zelda ventures into the snowy heights after completing the “Lands of the Goddesses” quest. The main objective is to reach the summit of Holy Mount Lanayru and mend the large rift that has appeared there. This quest involves navigating treacherous snowy terrain, braving blizzards, and ultimately exploring the Lanayru Temple to restore balance to the region.

Zelda’s ascent begins in the Hebra Mountain Passage, north of Hyrule Castle Town. She must climb walls, break through ice, and navigate through a persistent snowstorm. Along the way, she meets Condé, a friendly yeti who offers shelter until the blizzard subsides. After the storm, Zelda follows Condé and enters the Hebra Mountain Cave Rift, where she needs to rescue Tri’s friends to mend the rift. Continuing her climb up Hebra Mountain, Zelda eventually reaches the peak, where she learns that Condé’s brother has gone to Holy Mount Lanayru. At the mountain’s peak, Zelda finds a large rift and enters the Stilled Hebra Mountain, leading to Stilled Holy Mount Lanayru.

Inside a cave, she discovers a painting by Condé’s brother, providing insight into his journey. Zelda’s ultimate goal is to reach and complete the Lanayru Temple, located within the Stilled Holy Mount Lanayru, where she will face the boss Skorchill and mend the rift, receiving Nayru’s Sanction. After resolving the rifts, Zelda returns to Hebra Mountain to reassure Condé about his brother.

The ascent of Holy Mount Lanayru involves numerous puzzles:

  • Hebra Mountain Passage: Creating water block columns to reach climbable walls and using bombs to clear cracked blocks.
  • Hebra Mountain (Lower): Melting icy pillars using fire-based Echoes.
  • Western Hebra Mountain Cave: Using Ice Blocks to build stairways and bridges.
  • Lower Hebra Mountain Tunnel: Using Braziers to melt Ice Blocks and destroy rolling Snowballs.
  • Stilled Hebra Mountain Cave: Melting ice crystals with Braziers to free Tri’s friends.
  • Hebra Mountain (Upper): Building bridges to reach collectibles surrounded by ice.
  • Upper Hebra Mountain Tunnel: Using Water Blocks to nullify wind cannons and utilizing wind currents to reach higher ledges.

The snowy mountains hold various collectibles:

  • Heart Pieces: Located in Hebra Mountain (Upper) and Hebra Mountain (Peaks).
  • Treasure Chests: Contain items like Might Crystals, Rupees, Golden Eggs, Floral Nectar, Warm Pepper, Twisted Pumpkins, Radiant Butter, Energy Belt Accessory, Monster Stone, Monster Guts, Ice Spikes Accessory, and Monster Fangs.
  • Might Crystals: Found throughout the mountain range, including the Northern Sanctuary, Hebra Mountain (Lower), Western Hebra Mountain Cave, Lower Hebra Mountain Tunnel, Stilled Hebra Mountain Cave, Hebra Mountain (Upper), and Hebra Mountain (Peaks).
