Walkthrough

Start with the four key temples and the main quests, which carry the story from the Great Sky Island to Ganondorf. When you want everything else along the way, the 100% route at the bottom of this page walks Hyrule chapter by chapter.

The four key temples

Each regional quest ends in a temple with a boss and a Sage. They can be done in any order once you reach the surface.

Main quests in story order

  1. The Closed Door: Clear Ukouh, In-isa and Gutanbac shrines for Ultrahand, Fuse and Ascend, claim an Energy Cell and open the Temple of Time door.
  2. To the Kingdom of Hyrule: Jump from the Temple of Time, skydive to Hyrule Field, walk to Lookout Landing and meet Purah.
  3. Find Princess Zelda: Get the Purah Pad, open the Temple of Time, learn Recall, clear Nachoyah Shrine and earn a Heart Container.
  4. Regional Phenomena: Visit Hebra, Eldin, Lanayru and Gerudo, finish each Temple, then report to Purah at Lookout Landing.
  5. Tulin of Rito Village: Find Tulin, climb to the Wind Temple, open its five locks, beat Colgera and earn the Vow of Tulin.
  6. Yunobo of Goron City: Talk to Bludo, free Yunobo at YunoboCo HQ, climb Death Mountain, beat Moragia, ring five gongs and defeat Marbled Gohma.
  7. The Sludge-Covered Statue: Wash the statue in Zora’s Domain with Splash Fruit, then speak to Yona and head for Mipha Court to meet Sidon.
  8. The Broken Slate: Wash the sludge off Jiahto’s slate piece at Toto Lake and fit it into the wall to read the clue about the sky.
  9. Restoring the Zora Armor: Bring an Ancient Arowana to Yona in Zora’s Domain to get the Zora Armor, which lets you swim up waterfalls.
  10. Clues to the Sky: Get King’s Scales from Dorephan in Pristine Sanctum, then shoot one through the stone tear on Floating Scales Island.
  11. Sidon of the Zora: Meet Sidon at Mipha Court, follow the sludge to the Water Temple, open four faucets and beat Mucktorok.
  12. Riju of Gerudo Town: Train Riju, defend Kara Kara Bazaar and Gerudo Town, light the red pillars, raise the Lightning Temple and beat Queen Gibdo.
  13. Secret of the Ring Ruins: Photograph the Ring Ruin tablet, find the Charged armor, offer a Zonai Charge and reach Dragonhead Island.
  14. Guidance from Ages Past: Follow the mask’s beam to the Depths, rebuild Mineru’s Construct, then beat the Seized Construct.
  15. Find the Fifth Sage: Talk to Purah, Paya and Tauro, follow the Zonai relic on Dragonhead Island and meet Mineru, Sage of Spirit.
  16. Camera Work in the Depths: Jump into Hyrule Field Chasm, light two Lightroots, photograph the statue and earn Zonaite x5 from Josha.
  17. A Mystery in the Depths: Follow the statue trail from Iayusus Lightroot to the Great Abandoned Central Mine, learn Autobuild.
  18. Crisis at Hyrule Castle: Find Captain Hoz at the First Gatehouse, report to Purah, get the Paraglider and activate Lookout Landing Skyview Tower.
  19. Trail of the Master Sword: Enter Korok Forest through the Depths, defeat Phantom Ganon, then speak to the Great Deku Tree.
  20. Recovering the Hero’s Sword: Follow the Light Dragon marker, launch from a Skyview Tower and pull the Master Sword.
  21. Impa and the Geoglyphs: Meet Impa near New Serenne Stable, repair her balloon with Ultrahand, fly up and glide to the Dragon’s Tear for a memory.
  22. The Dragon’s Tears: Main quest in Tears of the Kingdom: how it starts with Impa, what the quest log asks for and where the memories are.
  23. Destroy Ganondorf: The final main quest. Descend beneath Hyrule Castle, beat the army, Ganondorf and the Demon Dragon, then catch Zelda.

The 100% route, by region

Each chapter lists everything worth collecting in that stretch, in the order you reach it: shrines, caves, wells, Korok seeds, chests, minibosses and the quests you start along the way. Chapters are grouped by region.

Great Sky Island
