The “Rift on Eldin Volcano” quest begins as Zelda enters the volcanic region after the events of “Lands of the Goddesses”. The primary objective is to mend the large rift that has appeared on Eldin Volcano, causing trouble for the Goron inhabitants. This quest involves assisting the new Goron Chief, Darston, in finding a way into the volcano’s crater and rescuing missing Gorons, ultimately leading to the repair of the rift within the Eldin Temple.
How to Complete The Rift on Eldin Volcano Quest
Zelda’s journey to mend the rift on Eldin Volcano starts by traveling to the northwest end of the map, north of Kakariko Village, to reach the volcano. Upon arrival, she makes her way to Goron City, where she learns that Chief Darston and other Gorons have been swallowed by a rift. Entering Goron City, Zelda uses Tri’s power to access the Stilled Goron City Rift. Inside, she must find and rescue Tri’s friends. After restoring Goron City, Zelda learns that Elders Gol and Silv are missing and might know a shortcut to the crater.
Darston directs Zelda to search the Rock-Roast Quarry in the northwest and the Lizalfos Burrow to the north. Zelda first travels to the Rock-Roast Quarry, where she finds hungry Gorons and embarks on the Rock-Roast Quarry quest to feed them. Next, she heads to the Lizalfos Burrow to the north, where she helps Elder Silv by defeating the Lizalfos within, completing the Lizalfos Burrow quest. Returning to Goron City, Zelda, Darston, Gol, and Silv discover a secret passage in the Chief’s room.
This passage leads to the Crater Secret, which Zelda navigates using various Echoes. Finally, Zelda enters the Stilled Eldin Volcano and makes her way through to the Eldin Temple, where she must venture through and defeat the boss, Volvagia, to mend the rift and complete the quest.
