The “Still Missing” quest begins immediately after the successful completion of both “A Rift in the Gerudo Desert” and “The Jabul Waters Rift” main quests, which also concludes the overarching “Searching for Everyone” quest. Despite mending the large rifts in those regions, the King of Hyrule and the hero Link remain unaccounted for, thus initiating this new phase of the main storyline. The primary objective of “Still Missing” is to mend the massive rift that has engulfed Hyrule Castle Town and, in the process, hopefully locate the missing King and Link.
How to Complete the Still Missing Main Quest
Zelda’s first step is to return to Lueberry’s House in the Suthorn Forest to share the news of her findings in Gerudo Desert and Jabul Waters. Shortly after arriving, General Wright and Minister Lefte will rush off towards Hyrule Castle, believing that imposters have taken their places and that the King is trapped within a rift. Zelda’s next destination is Hyrule Castle Town, located far to the north of Lueberry’s House. Upon reaching the town, she will find a scene of chaos as a massive rift has overtaken almost the entire area. General Wright and Minister Lefte will be present, attempting to convince the town guards of the deception. Amidst the commotion, a significant earthquake will rock the castle, and the giant rift will rapidly expand, engulfing much of the Castle Town and trapping many villagers as shadowy creatures emerge.
General Wright will organize the remaining soldiers to evacuate, leaving Zelda to deal with the new threats. To find the entrance to the rift, Zelda needs to head to the northwest side of the town, behind a house with a red roof, where a well can be found. Jumping down this well will lead to the entrance of the Stilled Hyrule Castle Town Rift. Zelda must then navigate through this Stilled World, making her way north until she reaches the Hyrule Castle dungeon.
Inside the castle, she will eventually find the Stilled King of Hyrule in the throne room. Progressing further requires Zelda to move the King’s throne and descend into the basement, where she must navigate a stealth sequence, avoiding detection by guards. Continuing through the underground area will eventually lead her to a room with four unlit torches. Using the Ignizol Echo, Zelda must light these torches to proceed. Finally, she must reach the end of Hyrule Castle and engage in a battle with Ganon. After defeating Ganon, Tri will mend the rift that surrounds Hyrule Castle Town. Following a lengthy scene, the “Still Missing” quest will conclude, immediately unlocking the “Lands of the Goddesses” and “Rescuing the Hero Link” quests.
