Steps to Reach the Snowhead Region
To embark on your journey towards the Snowhead Region, your initial direction should be north from Clock Town, leading you into the familiar expanse of Termina Field. The specific exit you need to take is the north exit of Clock Town, which will guide you towards the mountainous terrain of Snowhead.
Once you have entered Termina Field, continue your northward trek, heading directly towards the imposing mountain range that marks the beginning of the Snowhead Region. You will soon arrive at the entrance to the Mountain Village, the first area you will encounter within the Snowhead Region. However, upon reaching this point, you will discover that the path forward is obstructed by a massive wall of ice, effectively blocking your progress
To overcome this frozen obstacle and gain access to the Mountain Village, you must utilize the Hero’s Bow that you skillfully acquired within the Woodfall Temple Carefully aim at the prominent icicle that hangs directly above the imposing ice wall. Fire your Hero’s Bow and shoot the icicle twice with arrows. The impact of the arrows will cause the icicle to break free and fall, shattering the ice wall and clearing the path that leads into the Mountain Village.
Arrival in the Frozen North: Exploring the Mountain Village
The path ahead may be further obstructed by colossal snowballs. These icy behemoths can be swiftly dealt with using a bomb from your inventory or a powerful blast from the Blast Mask, should you possess it. With these frosty obstacles cleared, you can finally proceed deeper into the Mountain Village. Upon entering this frozen settlement, take a moment to locate the Owl Statue near the entrance and strike it with your sword. This simple action will activate it as a warp point, allowing for quick returns should the need arise. The Mountain Village, despite its name, initially appears as a rather small and isolated location. The most prominent structure is the Mountain Smithy, a lone building situated in the center of the area. This workshop is the domain of the skilled blacksmiths Zubora and Gabora. Keep in mind that the bitter cold and the anticipation for the upcoming Carnival of Time in Clock Town might affect their ability to ply their trade at this moment.
The village acts as a crucial crossroads, with paths leading to various points of interest. To the east lies the perilous ascent to the Snowhead Temple, while a westward trail winds towards the icy Twin Islands, which serve as the gateway to the Goron Village. A less obvious path to the north will eventually lead you to the solemn Goron Graveyard. As you first step into the Mountain Village, the overwhelming presence of winter will be undeniable. A biting chill permeates the air, and thick layers of snow blanket the entire landscape, clearly demonstrating the severe impact of the unnatural cold on the land and its inhabitants, particularly the Goron tribe. Your primary objective upon arriving in this frozen village is to find a way to reach the Goron Village, the next crucial step in your quest to resolve the troubles plaguing the Snowhead region. The path leading west, towards the Twin Islands, is the direction you should take initially. You might also notice a shivering Goron perched atop a frosty ledge.
While he is visible, direct interaction with him will likely be limited at this early stage of your exploration. The stark contrast between the vibrant Woodfall region and the frozen Mountain Village immediately highlights the severity of the situation in Snowhead. The pervasive ice and snow serve as a constant visual reminder of the unnatural cold that you are tasked with resolving. Furthermore, your ability to enter the Mountain Village is directly linked to your success in the Woodfall Temple, where you obtained the Hero’s Bow. This connection underscores the sequential nature of your quest and the importance of each dungeon in unlocking the path to the next area. The Mountain Village, in its initial frozen state, acts as a clear representation of the problems afflicting the entire Snowhead region. Your arrival marks the beginning of your efforts to restore balance and bring warmth back to this frigid land.
Bridging the Gap: Progressing to Goron Village
From the central area of the Mountain Village, turn your attention westward and follow the path that leads towards the Twin Islands. This area serves as a transition point and is characterized by a series of precarious rope bridges stretching across icy chasms. The snowy ground can be quite slippery, so proceed with caution as you navigate these bridges. The Twin Islands are more than just a means of getting from one place to another; they subtly introduce the challenges of the Snowhead region. The icy environment and the need for careful platforming prepare you for the trials that await in the Goron Village and beyond. As you traverse the Twin Islands, keep an eye out for a familiar sight: an Owl statue situated near a significant drop.
Upon approaching, the wise owl Kaepora Gaebora will appear and engage in a brief conversation before taking flight across the seemingly bottomless chasm. As he soars across the gap, he will leave behind a trail of shimmering feathers that briefly materialize into invisible ice platforms. With careful timing and precise jumps, follow this ephemeral path of feathers until you reach a cave entrance on the other side. Venture into the chilly confines of the cave and locate a large treasure chest. Inside lies a crucial item for your journey: the Lens of Truth. This mystical lens will grant you the ability to see hidden objects, revealing secrets that would otherwise remain invisible, including platforms, ladders, and even spectral figures.
Exit the cave, now equipped with the invaluable Lens of Truth. Activate the lens, and you will be able to see the icy platforms that were previously invisible, allowing you to safely jump back across the chasm. As you make your way back, use the Lens of Truth to spot a faint, ghostly silhouette of an old Goron floating on a nearby ledge. This is Darmani the Third, a proud Goron hero. Approach and speak with the spectral Goron. He will express surprise that you can see him and will implore you to follow his ethereal form. You can conserve your magic by deactivating the Lens of Truth and simply following his translucent shadow as he leads the way. Darmani’s spirit will guide you back through the Mountain Village, eventually stopping near a frozen pond at the village’s exit. Here, reactivate the Lens of Truth.
You will now see a series of hidden ladders clinging to the cliff face above the frozen water, leading upwards to the Goron Graveyard. You can either carefully hop across the small, spinning iceberg in the pond or, more easily, don the Deku Mask and use the Deku Flower to float to the other side. Climb the revealed ladders to reach the entrance of the Goron Graveyard. Venture into the cave within the graveyard and speak to Darmani’s spirit one last time. He will lament his inability to save his people from the encroaching cold. To ease his sorrow, play the Song of Healing on your Ocarina.
This poignant act will grant you the Goron Mask, allowing you to transform into the very likeness of Darmani, inheriting his immense strength and rolling prowess. The Lens of Truth is more than just a tool for finding hidden items; it plays a crucial role in the narrative progression of the Snowhead region, enabling your interaction with the spectral Darmani and ultimately leading to the acquisition of the Goron Mask. This Goron Mask is the second transformation mask you will obtain, and it will prove absolutely essential for navigating the icy terrain and overcoming the challenges that lie ahead in the Snowhead region and the Snowhead Temple.
Within the Goron Shrine: Challenges and the Goron Lullaby
With the powerful Goron Mask now in your possession, return to the Mountain Village. Head towards the western exit, the path that previously led you to the Twin Islands. This route now serves as your gateway to the Goron Village. Follow the winding path, utilizing your newfound Goron form to navigate the snowy slopes and icy patches with ease, until you reach the entrance of the Goron Village. The entrance to the Goron Village Shrine, the large, domed structure, might be guarded by a large, rolling Goron completely encased in snow – this is the Gatekeeper, feeling the chill of the frozen village. You can halt his snowy rampage by either strategically placing bombs in his path or by delivering a well-timed, powerful Goron Punch. A quicker method to enter the shrine is to transform into Goron Link and perform a mighty Ground Pound directly in front of the massive doors. This will cause them to rumble open, granting you access to the interior.
Step inside the Goron Shrine and ascend the ramps to the upper level. Here, you will encounter a heartbreaking scene: the Goron Elder’s son, a small and clearly distressed Goron child, is wailing uncontrollably, deeply missing his father. The Goron Elder himself is currently in a rather precarious situation – frozen solid within a colossal snowball. His location, however, is not static and changes depending on the current day of the three-day cycle. On the First Day, you can typically find the frozen Elder near the main entrance to the Goron Village.
On the Second Day, his icy prison will have shifted to the Twin Islands area, closer to the ramp leading up to the Mountain Village. On the Final Day, the determined Elder will have somehow made his way to the Mountain Village itself, where he can be found next to the familiar Owl Statue. Your immediate task is to locate the Goron Elder in his current frozen state, wherever that may be. To free the Goron Elder from his icy predicament, you will need a bottle of Hot Spring Water. This geothermal treasure can be found in two locations: within the cave where you received the Goron Mask (Darmani’s resting place) or in a hole covered by a thin layer of ice on one of the islands in the Twin Islands area. Use an empty bottle to scoop up the steaming water. Remember, it will cool down over time if you don’t use it quickly. Once you have the Hot Spring Water, swiftly make your way to the frozen Goron Elder and use the bottled water on his icy encasement to thaw him out.
Now, transform into Goron Link and speak with the Elder. Recognizing your Goron physique, he will teach you the introductory melody of the Goron Lullaby, a song with the power to soothe even the most agitated Gorons. Your next step is to return to the Goron Shrine and ascend to the upper floor where the Elder’s son is still crying. Approach the little Goron and, as Goron Link, play the first part of the Lullaby that you just learned. Hearing the familiar tune, the baby Goron will recognize it and teach you the remainder of the song, completing the Goron Lullaby in its entirety. Be aware of a potential quirk in the game’s mechanics: you might need to stand directly in front of the baby Goron for the song to register correctly. The Goron Elder’s changing location throughout the three days adds a dynamic element to the region, encouraging exploration at different times. The process of learning the Goron Lullaby by first freeing the Elder and then playing the initial melody for his son illustrates the strong family ties within the Goron community. This Goron Lullaby is a vital tool necessary to progress further into the Snowhead region and ultimately reach the Snowhead Temple.
Gateway to the Peak: Accessing Snowhead Temple
With the soothing Goron Lullaby now etched in your memory, exit the Goron Village and follow the clearly marked signs that point the way towards the imposing Snowhead Mountain. Transform into your powerful Goron form. The path leading up Snowhead Mountain presents a significant challenge, characterized by steep, icy ramps and treacherous gaps. This is where the Goron’s unique abilities truly come into play. Utilize the charged Spin Dash by holding down the B button while pushing forward on the analog stick. Release the B button to launch yourself forward at high speed, allowing you to ascend the ramps and leap across the chasms with surprising agility. Mastering the timing and direction of your Spin Dash will be crucial for a smooth ascent. As you conquer these challenging ramps, you will eventually reach a higher plateau. Keep an eye out for another helpful Owl Statue located near the summit and activate it to add another valuable warp point to your repertoire, saving you from having to repeat the arduous climb in the future.
As you approach the entrance of the majestic Snowhead Temple, you will be met by a fierce and blinding blizzard. The powerful winds and heavy snowfall will make it impossible to proceed on foot in your Hylian form. Do not despair, for the Lens of Truth holds the key to understanding this meteorological menace. Activate the lens, and you will discover the true source of the raging blizzard: a colossal Goron, far larger than any you have encountered before, is standing directly in the path, his powerful gusts of breath creating the intense storm. Now that you have identified the cause of the blizzard, it is time to put your newly learned Goron Lullaby to good use. Transform into Goron Link, pull out your Ocarina, and play the soothing melody for the giant, slumbering Goron.
The powerful lullaby will work its magic, causing the massive Goron to fall into a deep sleep, his powerful breaths ceasing and the blizzard dissipating. With the path now clear, run up the narrow walkway that winds its way to the left of the mountain. This path will lead you directly to the imposing entrance of the Snowhead Temple, your next major destination in the quest to save Termina. The encounter with the giant Goron and the subsequent use of the Goron Lullaby demonstrate a clever environmental puzzle, requiring the player to use both the Lens of Truth and the Goron Mask’s abilities. This situation emphasizes that the Goron Mask is not just for movement but also a crucial tool for interacting with the environment.
Conquering the Ice: Snowhead Temple Walkthrough (Floors 1-2)
Brace yourself as you step through the grand entrance into the frigid interior of Snowhead Temple. The first room you encounter is patrolled by mischievous White Boes. These spectral snow creatures might appear harmless, but they are intent on causing you trouble. Transform into Goron Link and use a powerful Goron Pound to quickly dispatch them. Your path forward is blocked by jagged ice stalagmites. As Goron Link, unleash a fiery Goron Punch to shatter these frozen obstacles and clear the way. You will then come across a large, heavy block. As Goron Link, grab hold and push it forward until it tumbles into a hole in the floor, revealing the entrance to the next part of the temple. Be prepared, as a White Wolfos will materialize in this new area, ready to challenge you. In the subsequent room, you will notice a ramp leading upwards. Transform back into Goron Link and use your Goron Roll to speed across the icy incline. Make sure to begin your roll on the snowy patch just before the ramp to gain enough momentum to make the jump. Continue forward and ascend the nearby set of stairs. You will encounter an Eeno, a small, yeti-like creature, guarding a treasure chest.
Defeat the Eeno and open the chest to claim the Dungeon Map. This map will provide a layout of the temple, making navigation much easier. Look down below the ramp you just rolled across. You should spot a Stray Fairy encased in a bubble. Aim carefully with your bow and shoot the bubble to release the fairy. If you have obtained the Great Fairy Mask from Clock Town, equip it to automatically draw the fairy towards you. Descend the stairs and, as normal Link, carefully hop across the gap to the western ledge. Enter the dark blue door located on the western ledge. In this new room, you will see two large, gray blocks stacked on top of each other. Transform into Goron Link and pull these blocks backwards to reveal a hidden alcove. Inside, you will find a chest containing a valuable Small Key.
Before leaving this room, push or pull the two gray blocks all the way to the far end of the snowy area. They will drop down slightly, and a treasure chest will appear on a ledge high above. You will not be able to reach it just yet, but remember its location for later. Return to the entrance room of the temple and locate a locked door. Use the Small Key you just obtained to unlock it and proceed. In this next room, you will find another large treasure chest. Open it to acquire the Compass. The Compass will help you locate the various treasure chests hidden throughout the temple. Keep an eye out for a cracked section of the wall in the back of this room. Plant a bomb to blast it open, revealing a staircase leading to the next floor. In the room where you obtained the Dungeon Map, look for a Stray Fairy floating in a bubble near one of the ice enemies on the side of the wall. Shoot the bubble with an arrow to collect it.
In the room with pools of lava (accessible by going down the stairs in the first room and taking the eastern door), transform into Goron Link and step on the switch located within one of the lava pools. This will cause a chest containing a Stray Fairy to appear. Remember, Goron Link is immune to lava, so feel free to walk right in. The initial challenges within the Snowhead Temple emphasize the importance of utilizing Goron Link’s unique abilities for both puzzle-solving and navigating the environment. The presence of lava suggests that the Goron Mask will be essential for exploring all areas of the temple. The reward for carefully manipulating the gray blocks indicates that thorough exploration will lead to valuable discoveries.
Ascending Further: Snowhead Temple Walkthrough (Upper Floors and Fire Arrows)
Ascend the newly revealed staircase to the third floor of Snowhead Temple. This large room is characterized by several tall pillars, many of which are topped with large, frozen blocks of ice. Look up towards the ceiling, and you will notice numerous large icicles hanging precariously. Equip your Hero’s Bow and shoot these icicles with two well-aimed arrows each. The falling ice will shatter the frozen blocks on top of the pillars, clearing a path for you to proceed. Be mindful of smaller icicles that might fall and cause damage as you move through the room. With the path now clear, carefully jump from pillar to pillar, using the destroyed ice blocks as platforms, until you reach a giant snowball located on the northern side of the room.
Transform into your powerful Goron form and smash into the massive snowball with a charged roll. Inside, you will find a chest containing another essential Small Key. In this room with the icy pillars, use the Lens of Truth to reveal a hidden alcove on one of the walls. Carefully jump or use the Bunny Hood for extra agility to reach it. Inside, you will find a chest containing the fourth elusive Stray Fairy. Locate the southeastern locked door on this floor and use one of your Small Keys to open it. You will find yourself in a room with a peculiar switch puzzle. Transform into Goron Link and perform a Goron Pound on the first yellow switch located on the upper platform. Quickly take off the Goron Mask and jump across to the other side of the room. Run back towards the middle of the room and pound the second yellow switch you initially hit. This action will unveil a green switch in the center of the platform.
Now, pound the newly revealed green switch. This will briefly lower a platform near the exit door. Immediately take off the Goron Mask and quickly climb onto the green switch before it retracts. Use it as a temporary platform to jump across to the elevated ledge and enter the door. This sequence requires speed and precise timing. Prepare for a chilling encounter! You will find yourself facing the first mini-boss of Snowhead Temple: Wizrobe. This magical foe will teleport to different corners of the room and unleash freezing spells upon you. Effective strategies for defeating Wizrobe include keeping a close eye on his movements and shooting him with an arrow as soon as he materializes. Wearing the Bunny Hood can aid in tracking his rapid teleports. If you are quick enough, you can also strike him with your sword when he briefly appears before casting his spell. Try positioning yourself in the middle of the room to have a clear view of all the teleportation pads, allowing you to anticipate his next appearance.
Upon defeating Wizrobe, the door to the next area will unlock, and a treasure chest will appear. Open it to claim the invaluable Fire Arrows! These fiery projectiles will be essential for melting ice barriers and activating certain mechanisms within the temple. In the room with the icy pillars, use the Great Fairy Mask in conjunction with the Lens of Truth and look straight up at the ceiling. You should see a Stray Fairy trapped within a bubble. Shoot the bubble with your Hero’s Bow to release the fairy, and the Great Fairy Mask will draw it towards you. After unlocking the southeastern door with the Small Key, but before engaging Wizrobe, use the Lens of Truth to examine the ceiling in the switch puzzle room. You will discover a hidden alcove containing a Stray Fairy trapped in a bubble. Shoot the bubble to free the fairy.
Now that you possess the Fire Arrows, backtrack to the first floor and locate the room where you encountered the Real Bombchu. Use the Lens of Truth to reveal a hidden pathway leading upwards to a high alcove. Jump across and you will find a chest containing another Stray Fairy. The Wizrobe’s teleportation and freezing attacks require quick thinking and strategic use of items like the Bunny Hood. The switch puzzle demands precise timing and the ability to quickly change between forms. Acquiring the Fire Arrows marks a significant point in the temple, as these will be crucial for future challenges.
Reaching the Summit: Snowhead Temple Walkthrough (Boss Key and Goht)
Return to the central, circular chamber of Snowhead Temple. Now that you have the Fire Arrows, you can melt the thick ice encasing the green-colored doors on this floor. Equip the Fire Arrows and shoot the icy barriers to clear the entrances. Go through one of the newly accessible green doors. In this room, you will find three unlit torches. Use your Fire Arrows to ignite all three. Successfully lighting the torches will cause a door to open in the center of the room. Proceed through the newly opened door. In this small room, you will find a large, golden switch on the floor. Transform into Goron Link and perform a powerful Goron Pound on the switch.
This action will trigger a mechanism that causes the massive central pillar in the main chamber to rise all the way to the top floor of the temple. Return to the very first room of the Snowhead Temple, the one where you rolled across the icy bridge. Equip your Fire Arrows and melt all the remaining ice in this room. Doing so will cause a treasure chest to appear, containing another Stray Fairy. In the same first room, look for a crate positioned high above one of the doorways you likely blew open earlier. Push one of the nearby blocks into the corner of the room and use it as a stepping stone to reach the ledge. From there, toss a bomb at the crate to break it open and reveal another Stray Fairy. Still in the first room, jump across the gap to the far ledge where you will find a silver door.
Hop across the two small, block-like platforms and open the treasure chest on the other side to rescue another Stray Fairy. After melting the ice around the green doors on the fourth floor, lighting the torches, and going through the center door, you will encounter some icy monsters in this room. Defeat them using Fire Arrows, and a treasure chest containing another Stray Fairy will appear as your reward. As you ascend the central pillar, you will eventually reach a snowy room populated by snowball-throwing Eenos. Keep an eye out for an unusual snow pattern on one of the walls. Equip the Lens of Truth to reveal a hidden bubble containing another elusive Stray Fairy. Shoot the bubble with an arrow to collect it.
Now that the central pillar has risen, you can use it to ascend to the higher levels of the temple. Carefully navigate your way up the pillar, likely utilizing Goron Roll on the snowy slopes that spiral around it. You might need to pass through the room where you previously encountered the Real Bombchu to continue your ascent. If necessary, shoot any switches you encounter to raise platforms and aid your climb. Before reaching the very top of the pillar, you will enter a room where you will face two formidable Dinolfos. Utilize the same strategies you employed in Woodfall Temple to defeat these agile lizard warriors. Defeating both of the Dinolfos in this room will reward you with two more Stray Fairies, bringing your collection closer to completion.
At the summit of the central pillar, you will find yourself on a familiar white platform. Prepare for a rematch, as the mischievous Wizrobe will reappear for a second encounter. The strategies for defeating him remain the same, but be aware that he now has more teleportation pads, making him even more elusive. Vanquishing Wizrobe for the second time will unlock the door leading to the Boss Key. Open the large treasure chest to claim this crucial item, which will grant you access to the temple’s final challenge. With the Boss Key in hand, return to the central room and make your way to the very top floor of the temple. You will now be able to unlock the imposing boss door using the key you just acquired.
Steel your nerves and step through the boss door to confront the mechanical menace that has brought winter to Snowhead: Goht, the Masked Mechanical Monster. Upon entering the arena, you will find Goht encased in a thick layer of ice. Equip your trusty Fire Arrows and shoot the icy prison to melt it away, awakening the colossal mechanical beast. Immediately transform into your powerful Goron form. The battle against Goht takes place on a circular track. Your primary strategy is to chase after him, building up momentum with your charged roll, and then slamming into him at full speed using your spiked rolling attack. Be vigilant and dodge Goht’s various attacks, which include bolts of lightning, falling rocks, and explosive bombs that he will hurl in your direction. Keep an eye out for magic jars scattered around the perimeter of the track. Roll through them as Goron Link to replenish your magic supply, which is essential for maintaining your powerful rolling attacks. Continue your relentless assault, ramming into Goht repeatedly until the mechanical monster finally collapses to the ground.
While he is down, you can maximize your damage by positioning yourself between his legs and continuing to roll into him for multiple hits. As an alternative strategy, you can remain near the entrance of the arena and shoot Goht with arrows as he charges past. Light Arrows, if you possess them, might inflict greater damage, potentially speeding up the battle. In the Nintendo 3DS version, Goht has a distinct weak point: a large, glowing eye that will periodically pop out of his back. Focus your attacks on this eye. Ramming Goht will cause him to stumble and fall. If he falls onto his stomach, quickly shoot the eye with Fire Arrows. If he falls onto his side, you might be able to reach the eye with your sword for some extra damage. After enduring enough of your powerful attacks, Goht will finally be defeated, collapsing in a shower of sparks and snow.
You will be rewarded with a well-deserved Heart Container and Goht’s Remains. The final Stray Fairy in Snowhead Temple is often found in the boss arena itself. After defeating Goht, take a moment to explore the area thoroughly. It might be hidden in a chest that appears after the battle or in an otherwise inconspicuous location. The battle against Goht highlights the importance of the Goron Mask’s unique rolling ability in a dynamic boss encounter. The raising of the central pillar is a key element in the temple’s design, requiring the use of newly acquired Fire Arrows.
The Thaw and the Journey Ahead: Post-Temple Events and Great Bay
With the defeat of Goht, the unnatural cold that gripped the Snowhead region will finally dissipate. The harsh blizzard will cease, and the warmth of spring will gradually return to the land, melting the thick layers of snow. You will find yourself back in the Mountain Village, standing near the now-thawing small lake, a clear sign of the positive change you have brought. The Goron Village, too, will experience a welcome thaw. The ice that previously blocked entrances and confined the Gorons will melt away, and the relieved inhabitants will emerge, grateful for your heroic actions. You can now find the Goron Elder within the Goron Shrine.
With the return of spring, the Mountain Village and Goron Village will reveal new opportunities for exploration and side quests. Now that the Mountain Smithy is operational once more, you can upgrade your Kokiri Sword to the Razor Sword for 100 Rupees. Winning the Goron Race will earn you Gold Dust, allowing you to further upgrade to the Gilded Sword. If you haven’t already, you can get the Don Gero’s Mask by bringing Rock Sirloin to the frozen Goron on the waterfall. Return to the Goron Village and speak to Medigoron (as Goron Link) in the Powder Keg Shop to get the Powder Keg Certificate. You can also buy the Biggest Bomb Bag from the Business Deku Scrub outside the Goron Village Shrine (as Goron Link, before giving him the Swamp Title Deed).
To reach the Great Bay Region, you will need to return to Termina Field and head west from Clock Town. You will likely need Epona to jump over the barriers. If you haven’t rescued Epona yet, you will need Powder Kegs to clear the path to Romani Ranch. Once you have Epona’s Song, you can summon her and ride towards Great Bay Coast. The thawing of the Snowhead region demonstrates the significant impact of your actions on the game world. Obtaining Epona is a key step in progressing to the Great Bay. The availability of Powder Kegs and the Biggest Bomb Bag signifies your increasing power and resources.
Hidden Treasures and Wise Words: Secrets, Optional Challenges, and Helpful Hints
There are 15 Stray Fairies hidden within the Snowhead Temple. Collecting all of them and bringing them to the Great Fairy Fountain in Snowhead will reward you with an increased Magic Meter. Before entering the temple, you can find a Piece of Heart by defeating two Dodongos in a hole near the entrance. Winning the Goron Race after thawing the region will also net you a Piece of Heart. You can even get a Piece of Heart in Clock Town by completing the Treasure Chest Shop maze while wearing the Goron Mask. Optional masks to collect in this region include the Don Gero’s Mask , the Garo Mask , and the Captain’s Hat.
Slowing down time with the Inverted Song of Time can make the temple easier. The Bunny Hood can help with navigation and tracking Wizrobe. The Lens of Truth is crucial for revealing hidden elements. Utilize the Goron Mask’s abilities for both combat and puzzles. The presence of numerous optional masks and Heart Pieces encourages thorough exploration. The hints regarding the Inverted Song of Time and Bunny Hood suggest strategic item usage. The thawing of the Mountain Village reveals that some secrets are only accessible after completing the main objective.
