Oracle of Seasons has 12 Pieces of Heart. Ten sit in fixed spots around Holodrum and Subrosia, and two come at random, from Maple and from a Gasha Nut. Collect four and you get a Heart Container, which raises your maximum health by one full heart. The pieces give three containers in total, and the eight boss containers bring the maximum to 14 hearts in an unlinked game.

Horon Village
Head to the ledge in Horon Village that sits beside the Maku Tree gate. A bush blocks the way up. Burn it with an Ember Seed, climb the ledge and take the piece. The Seed Satchel with Ember Seeds comes from the first dungeon, so clear it first. You can take this piece in any season. See the Tower of Winter chapter for the route.
The winter pieces
Cavern below the windmill, Eastern Suburbs
East of Horon Village, find a tree stump. Use the Rod of Seasons on it to change the season to winter. Head north and west to a cave. Walk along the row of pots inside and take the piece at the end. You need the winter power of the Rod of Seasons, so you cannot take it in another season.
Lake in the Woods of Winter
In the Woods of Winter, a piece sits on the far side of the lake. Change the season to winter at a stump, then lift the rock on the southern tree row with the Power Bracelet. The Zora’s Flippers offer another way across the water. Take the piece. For the route through the woods, see Farore’s Secrets.
The shop piece and the random pieces
Rare Peach Stone, Subrosian Market
In the Subrosian Market, speak to the seller about the Rare Peach Stone and buy it. The price is 20 Ore Chunks and 10 Ember Seeds. Say yes when asked, and the stone turns into a Piece of Heart. Ore Chunks come from digging and from the Subrosian dances. The Tower of Summer chapter covers the market in order.
Maple
Maple appears after you defeat a set number of enemies: 30 kills, or 15 if you wear Maple’s Ring. When she shows up she races you for the items she scatters, and any visit can drop a Piece of Heart. The drop is random, so you may need several visits. Maple gives only one piece in the game, so once you have it you can stop chasing her. See the Farore chapter for the first visit.
Gasha Nut piece
Plant Gasha Seeds in soft soil. A seed grows into a Gasha Tree, and its nut can hold a Magic Ring, a Heart, a Potion, Rupees or, very rarely, a Piece of Heart. Piece-holding nuts come only from a few special trees, at four spots: Eyeglass Lake, the base of Goron Mountain, the Mt. Cucco area beside the Subrosian portal, and Tarm Ruins. Each piece can be won only once. See the side quests chapter for a Gasha Nut that held a piece.
Summer, spring and autumn pieces
Drained lake cave, Eyeglass Lake
Head north from Horon Village to Eyeglass Lake. Change the season to summer at the stump, and the lake drains. Use the Roc’s Feather and Zora’s Flippers to reach the drained lake bed. Lift the rock, go down the stairs and open the chest for a piece. The Tower of Autumn chapter shows the full route.
Great Moblin’s Keep
Take Dimitri, or use Zora’s Flippers, to reach the sandy fortress west of Sunken City. Beat the Great Moblin by throwing his own bombs back at him. When the keep collapses, a chest appears in the rubble at the top. Open it for a piece. The Great Moblin’s Keep chapter covers the fight step by step.
Spool Swamp island
Enter Spool Swamp and change the season to spring at the stump near the entrance to Poison Moth’s Lair. Use Zora’s Flippers to ride the current south through the swamp. On a small island in the middle, take the piece. The Spool Swamp chapter covers the swamp layout.
Mt. Cucco ledge
On Mt. Cucco, change the season to spring at the stump near the entrance to the Dancing Dragon Dungeon. Use a spring flower to reach higher ground and walk to the ledge where the piece sits. Hop off the cliff through the gap to reach it. The Tower of Spring chapter has the Mt. Cucco route.
Graveyard plateau
On the Western Coast, change the season to autumn at a stump. Go into the graveyard area and use Roc’s Cape to reach the plateau near the Explorer’s Crypt. The piece sits on the plateau. The Samasa Desert chapter notes the spot.
Temple Remains lava room
After the volcano erupts, return through the portal to the Temple Remains. Head north and use Roc’s Cape to cross the lava to the cracked wall at the top of the room. Bomb the wall, enter the lava-filled room and use Roc’s Cape to fly around it to the piece. The Temple Remains chapter covers the eruption.
Heart Containers
Every four pieces make a Heart Container. The game shows the count on the menu screen, and the counter restarts at zero after each container. The eight boss Heart Containers come from the dungeons: Aquamentus in the Gnarled Root Dungeon, Dodongo in Snake’s Remains, Mothula in Poison Moth’s Lair, Gohma in the Dancing Dragon Dungeon, Digdogger in Unicorn’s Cave, Manhandla in the Ancient Ruins, Gleeok in the Explorer’s Crypt and Medusa Head in the Sword and Shield Maze.
