RequirementCannon on the train, plus several Force Gems and Anjean’s gem for the rarer spots

There are 50 rabbits in Spirit Tracks, ten of each of five kinds that match the realms: Grass in the Forest Realm, Snow, Ocean, Mountain in the Fire Realm and Desert in the Sand Realm. You catch them from the train with the Rabbit Net you get at Rabbitland Rescue. Take five to Rabbitland Rescue for a Heart Container, and all fifty earn the sword-beam scroll. Most spots are on the starting tracks, but nineteen need a Force Gem to open the route.

Getting the Rabbit Net

Ride to Rabbitland Rescue, a hut and enclosure in the Forest Realm. After you bring Alfonzo home and receive the cannon, talk to the man who runs it. He welcomes you into the “Rabbitland family” and gives you the Rabbit Net, with the tip to try it from the train. The Tower of Spirits Floors 4-7 chapter covers that stretch of the story.

How to catch a rabbit

Rabbits peek out from behind boulders on land, or from floating barrels in the Ocean Realm. Sound the train whistle to make one pop out from hiding, then fire the cannon at its cover to start the hunt. You get ten seconds to net the rabbit before it runs away. Once the rabbit is in the net, the game reminds you to show your catch at Rabbitland Rescue.

You do not have to visit Rabbitland Rescue after every catch. The game keeps a running count, and the owner tallies everything you caught the next time you walk in. He also gives a small reward for the rabbits you bring.

Hand in your first five rabbits of any kind and the owner pays you with a Heart Container, which adds one to your life meter. See the Heart Container page for the other containers.

Treasure prizes follow as the count grows. Either bringing in ten rabbits in total or at least one of every kind earns a random treasure, so a mix of all five breeds gets you there quickly. These are the sort of collectables listed on the Treasure page.

Bring in all 50 and he gives you the Swordsman’s Scroll, which lets your sword fire sword beams while your hearts are full. The other scroll, for the Great Spin, comes from collecting all 20 stamps.
