There are five empty Bottles in A Link Between Worlds, and you can collect all of them: one is sold by the Street Merchant, one is a gift from the Bird Lover, one is the reward for a Premium Milk delivery, one sits in a chest in the Vacant House in Lorule, and one is the Great Rupee Fairy’s thank-you for 3,000 Rupees. Each bottle carries one item, so owning five lets you keep a fairy for emergencies, a couple of potions and some milk at the same time.

Bottle from the Street Merchant
After Yuga has sealed Seres away, the Street Merchant sets up his stall in the plaza of Kakariko Village. Talk to him and accept his offer: an empty Bottle for 100 Rupees. It is the earliest bottle you can have, so buy it as soon as you can afford it.
Bottle from the Bird Lover
Once you own Zora’s Flippers, swim to the stone bridge just east of Link’s House. The Bird Lover lives in a tent beneath it. Speak to him, choose to chat, and he hands over a Bottle that he says brings him too much excitement. It costs nothing.
Bottle from the Letter in a Bottle Quest
Look for the floating Letter in a Bottle in the south-eastern part of Lake Hylia. A climber stranded on Death Mountain wrote it, asking for Premium Milk. Take the letter to the Milk Bar owner in Kakariko Village, who gives you a bottle of Premium Milk for free (it cannot be drunk). Then rent the Hookshot, head east of the Tower of Hera and cross the broken bridge with it. Ride the moving blocks through the cave beyond and Wall Merge across the small gap on the ledge outside. The Bouldering Guy waits there with a twisted ankle; hand him the milk and he gives you the empty Bottle to keep. As a bonus, the Milk Bar then charges only 10 Rupees per Milk.
Bottle from the Vacant House
The Vacant House is Lorule’s version of Link’s House, with a Weather Vane next to the door. Inside, furniture blocks the rear half of the room. Place a Bomb against the back wall to blow it open, step through and open the Treasure Chest to find a Bottle. Rent Bombs from Ravio if you are not carrying any.
Bottle from the Great Rupee Fairy
In Lorule, find the large cracked boulder northwest of the Bomb Shop. Rent the Big Bomb Flower for 200 Rupees and blast the boulder to open the cave of the Great Rupee Fairy. Throw Rupees into her fountain in steps of 50 or 200. Once your donations total 3,000 Rupees, she returns to full size and gives you a Bottle. It is the only bottle that costs real money, so leave it for last. Each donation also restores your hearts and releases fairies.
What to Put in Your Bottles
Milk
The Milk Bar in Kakariko Village sells Milk for 20 Rupees, or 10 Rupees after the Premium Milk delivery. Each bottle holds a single helping. The Milk Bar in Lorule sells you none.
Potions
The Witch’s House near Zora’s Domain brews four potions from Monster Parts that enemies drop. A Red Potion costs 50 Rupees and restores eight hearts. A Blue Potion costs 200 Rupees plus 10 Monster Tails and is the strongest healing potion. A Yellow Potion costs 100 Rupees plus 10 Monster Horns and keeps you invincible while your Energy Gauge drains. A Purple Potion costs 60 Rupees plus 10 Monster Guts and damages enemies around you.
Fairies
Swing the Net at the fairies hovering in fountains and pools, then choose Put it in a bottle. A bottled fairy revives you automatically when you would otherwise fall. You can also buy a Fairy for 77 Rupees at the Lakeside Item Shop in Lorule.
Bees and Golden Bees
Catch bees with the Net the same way, or buy one at the Lakeside Item Shop in Lorule for 88 Rupees. The Golden Bee costs 9,999 Rupees there, but a man in the forest sells one for 888 Rupees. Trade Golden Bees to the Bee Guy in Kakariko Village: your first earns the Bee Badge and each later one pays 300 Rupees.
