The Minish Cap has three Great Fairies: the Great Mayfly Fairy on Mt. Crenel, the Great Butterfly Fairy in the Minish Woods and the Great Dragonfly Fairy in Royal Valley. Each tests you in a different way and rewards you with a bigger Bomb Bag, a bigger wallet or the Biggest Quiver. This page gives each fairy’s location, what to do and what to answer.

Great Mayfly Fairy: Big Bomb Bag
Crenel Wall cave
Get the Grip Ring and climb the rough red face of Crenel Wall, dodging the boulders that roll down. At the small ledge with a sign that reads “No bomb throwing”, set a bomb against the wall to open a cave. Throw a bomb into the fountain and the Great Mayfly Fairy asks whether you dropped a golden bomb or a silver one. Answer Neither, because you threw an ordinary bomb. She rewards your honesty with the Big Bomb Bag, which holds 30 bombs and comes full.
Great Butterfly Fairy: bigger wallet
Minish Woods adventurer’s spring
You need the Cane of Pacci. Use it on the hole in the ground in the north-east of the Eastern Hills, jump in and you are thrown out in the Minish Woods. Walk a few steps to a tree with an entrance, go in and down the stairs and head north to the adventurer’s spring. The fairy asks whether you want to throw your rupees into the spring. Answer yes and confirm. She says she does not need the money, keeps none of it and gives you a bigger wallet instead. Leave by the door and you come out in the Eastern Hills.
Great Dragonfly Fairy: Biggest Quiver
Royal Valley fountain
Go north through North Hyrule Field and west into Royal Valley. The graveyard is dark, so use the Flame Lantern. Go down the steps and drop a bomb between the two posts to blow open the cave entrance. Inside is the spring of the Great Dragonfly Fairy, who asks five questions. Answer them in this order:

A wrong answer empties your arrows, so go slowly. Answer all five correctly and she gives you the Biggest Quiver, which holds 99 arrows. This is the last of the three Great Fairies.
Healing fairy springs
Besides the three Great Fairies, a few cave springs simply heal you. The one worth knowing is on Mt. Crenel: from the Grip Ring cave, go west, climb the ladder to the north wall and bomb between the two rocks just right of the large rock wall. Fairies inside restore your hearts, and a Piece of Heart waits by the water (see all 44 Heart Pieces).
