Heart Piece Locations

On the west side of Mabe Village, a well sits at the top of a ledge behind a patch of bushes. Cut the bushes with the Sword, then step off the ledge to fall into the well. Wade across the shallow pool in the cave below to the Piece of Heart. You can take it as soon as you own the Sword. (Toronbo Shores, Mabe Village and Tail Cave walkthrough)

Pay 10 rupees to play the crane game in the building with the claw machine in Mabe Village. A Piece of Heart is one of the prizes in the first set. Steer the claw above it, drop it and guide the prize to the chute; prizes slip out easily, so expect a few attempts.

The Piece of Heart sits on the counter of the Town Tool Shop in the middle of the village, near the Shovel. It costs 200 rupees. Pay before you pick it up; the shopkeeper does not forget thieves.

Talk to the Fisherman at the pond in the northwest corner of Mabe Village and pay 10 rupees. Landing your first fish of any size earns you a Piece of Heart.

Keep fishing at the pond until a big green fish (a lunker) bites, then reel it in carefully. The Fisherman hands over a second Piece of Heart.

Just outside the Mysterious Forest, a patch of grass sits in the middle of a ring of pits with a Piece of Heart on it. Jump over the pits with Roc’s Feather, take the heart and hop out again. If you fall in a pit you only lose a moment. (Mysterious Forest and Bottle Grotto walkthrough)

Find the cave in the Cemetery. Inside, bomb the cracked stone and use a Pegasus Boots dash-jump to cross to the Piece of Heart. Guides describe the way into the cave differently, so look around the gravestones if you cannot spot it.

Weave through the spiked trees of Tabahl Wasteland, south of Tal Tal Heights, to the northeast corner. The Piece of Heart lies behind a single row of pits; jump them with Roc’s Feather.

Return to the cave in the Mysterious Forest whose room is full of grey rocks and skull rocks. With the Power Bracelet, lift the rocks and skulls blocking the left side of the room and pick up the Piece of Heart on the floor. (Ukuku Prairie, Kanalet Castle and Key Cavern walkthrough)

Go into the cave of rocks and skulls in the northwest of Ukuku Prairie. Lift the skulls and push the blocks until you can reach the corner holding a Piece of Heart.

Visit the Seashell Mansion south of Kanalet Castle with at least five Secret Seashells. The owner gives you a Piece of Heart for the first five. This is the only piece that comes from the seashell hunt; the other mansion rewards are different items.

Give Richard the five Golden Leaves and take the stairs to his backyard, the Pothole Field. In the far northeast corner a Piece of Heart waits beyond a line of holes. Jump across with Roc’s Feather and cut the bushes as you land; the Pegasus Boots make the running jump much easier.

Enter the first cave you reach on the way into the Tal Tal Mountain Range. Lift the rocks and break the purple crystals to reach the Piece of Heart, then step out for a chest on the ledge outside.

After you finish Key Cavern, talk to Dampé at his shack and arrange the Chamber Dungeon “Fill Up Your Hearts” from the chambers you own, then clear the adventure. Dampé pays out a Piece of Heart. (Yarna Desert and Angler’s Tunnel walkthrough)

Let the quicksand pit in the desert pull you down into the cave below. Place a Bomb against the middle of the north wall to open a hidden room that holds the Piece of Heart.

From the Yarna Desert entrance, walk around behind the houses at the north of Animal Village. The Piece of Heart lies in the open beside the bushes.

Swim along the Tal Tal Heights lake to the cave east of the Angler’s Tunnel entrance. The cave is flooded and empty except for a Piece of Heart at the bottom; dive with the Flippers to take it.

Follow the stream out of the pond to the moat around Kanalet Castle and swim to the corner west of the entrance. Dive with the Flippers to take the Piece of Heart from the moat floor. (Martha’s Bay and Catfish’s Maw walkthrough)

Take the stairs beside the canal in Ukuku Prairie into the flooded tunnel toward Animal Village. In the patch of deep water just before the dark barriers, dive for the Piece of Heart.

From the warp point in Ukuku Prairie head northeast to a cave in the tree line. Dash through the black barriers with the Pegasus Boots, then bomb the cracked wall on the right side of the next room. Swim to the cross-shaped platform in the flooded chamber beyond.

After Catfish’s Maw, work through the second tier of Chamber Dungeons at Dampé’s Shack (Key Hunter, Bomb’s Away!, Treasure Vault, Passageway Central). Clearing Passageway Central pays a Piece of Heart.

Once you have finished Key Cavern, a second Piece of Heart appears in the Trendy Game. It rides on the moving platform at the top of the prize area, so time the claw as it passes.

Go to the Telephone Booth in Martha’s Bay and find the staircase hidden in the leafy plants to its east. The passage below is flooded: swim with the Flippers and follow it to the Piece of Heart. The same tunnel continues to the Li’l Devil. (Southern Face Shrine and Face Shrine walkthrough)

Swim to the south edge of Martha’s Bay, near the Mermaid Statue, to the narrow channel where the water flows out. Dive with the Flippers to take the Piece of Heart.

Find the cracked wall in the northeast corner of Animal Village, behind the houses, and bomb it. Inside, bomb the next cracked wall, then Hookshot across the gap to the ledge with the Piece of Heart.

Lift the three rocks blocking the cave in the north-central Mysterious Forest. Hookshot across the gap to the chest (50 rupees), then Hookshot to the far ledge and push the rock to reach the Piece of Heart. The cave exits to Ukuku Prairie.

Take a ride for 100 rupees, then decline another ride and follow the shop owner into the cave. Hookshot across the stones at the top to reach the Piece of Heart.

Pay 100 rupees at the Raft Shop and choose the Rapids Race. Finish in under 40 seconds for a Piece of Heart; under 35 seconds also earns a Secret Seashell.

Pay 100 rupees for a ride, steer west and then south to a small island and stop there. The Piece of Heart waits on the island.

From the Hen House cliff, walk left to the broken bridge and Hookshot across. At the far end, cut the lone bush to reveal a staircase. Below, bomb the cracked south wall and take the Piece of Heart on the right. (Tal Tal Heights and Eagle’s Tower walkthrough)

In the western part of the Tal Tal Mountain Range, take the southwestern path out of the field of stones, using the Hookshot where needed, to reach a Piece of Heart.

From the lava pot room inside Turtle Rock, take the stairs that lead out onto the mountain top. Walk into the grass on the ledge above the entrance for the final Piece of Heart. (Western Tal Tal Mountains and Turtle Rock walkthrough)
