Between them they hand out four Heart Containers (Russell’s sword training in Castle Town gives a fifth), a bigger Quiver, two Bomb Bags, Regal Rings, Alchemy Stones and plenty of treasure for your treasure collection.

Take ‘Em All On!

Joynas runs this battle gauntlet in Castle Town for 50 rupees per attempt. You fight through room after room of enemies, so bring potions, and every level ends with a boss. A new level opens after each of three temples, and each has its own prize.

Level 1

Level 1 opens once you finish the Forest Temple. It ends with a rematch against Stagnox. Winning earns a Heart Container (see Heart Containers).

Level 2

Level 2 opens after the Ocean Temple. Besides ordinary enemies you face Stagnox, Fraaz and Phytops again. The prize is a Bomb Bag upgrade that raises how many bombs you can carry.

Level 3

Level 3 opens after the Sand Temple. You fight all five temple bosses in a row and finish against Dark Link. The prize is either a Regal Ring or an Alchemy Stone.

Whip

Whip Race

A man named Wood runs this timed course in the back area of Whittleton in the Forest Realm; you can only reach it with the Whip you earn in the Ocean Temple. Each run costs 50 rupees. You swing from pole to pole, clearing thorn trees with the Whip, and try to cross the finish line quickly. Your time decides the prize. The Bomb Bag and the Heart Container are one-time prizes; after that, every run pays a treasure:

TimePrize
1:20 to 1:30Bomb Bag upgrade, first time only
Under 1:15Heart Container, first time only
Slower than 1:30Common treasure, such as a Wood Heart or a Stalfos Skull
1:15 to 1:30Medium-rare treasure, such as a Pirate Necklace
1:05 to 1:15Rarer treasure, such as an Ancient Gold Piece, Goron Amber or Mystic Jade
Under 1:05Regal Ring or Alchemy Stone

You can run the course as often as you like. Once you finish in under 1:05, Wood lowers the entry fee to 25 rupees.

Goron Target Range

West of Goron Village in the Fire Realm, the Gorons let you shoot targets from your train for 20 rupees. Blue targets give 10 points, red targets take three hits for 30 each (90 total), and hitting a Goron face costs you 30. Scoring 1,000 unlocks a longer course, and the highest possible score is 2,560.

Afterwards you pick one of two chests. The large chest holds rupees and the small one holds treasure:

ScoreLarge chestSmall chest (treasure worth)
0 to 90NothingNothing
100 to 7905 R50 R
800 to 1,59020 R150 R
1,600 to 2,290100 R500 R
2,300 and up200 R500 R

Red targets are worth the most, so go for them first.

Quiver

Pirate Hideout

The hideout lies north of Papuchia Village in the Ocean Realm and opens once you hold Force Gem 16. It is free. You shoot Miniblins with the Bow, first from a fixed spot and then from a mine cart as you escape, then finish a Big Blin at the exit. If a thrown cage catches you, the run ends. Your first success frees a Papuchian prisoner, who rewards you with a Force Gem.

Return later to rescue a Goron prisoner instead, and your score decides the prize: 3,000 to 3,999 earns the Quiver upgrade (50 arrows), and 4,000 or more earns a Heart Container. Defeating enemies with Light Arrows is worth extra points.

Skating Rink

The Skating Rink sits in Slippery Station and opens with Force Gem 14. It offers three courses: Amateur pays a Big Gold Rupee, Pro pays a random rare treasure (usually a Palace Dish or an Ancient Gold Piece), and Champion pays an Alchemy Stone. Avoid rolling too many times in a row, or Link gets dizzy.

Ends of the Earth Station

This station in the northeast of the Fire Realm opens with Force Gem 20. Its caves are block puzzles: Brainteaser pays a 500 R treasure, Braintwister pays a Heart Container and Brainmasher pays a Regal Ring. Each cave also has a Big Green Rupee chest at its exit.
