Overview
Ocarina of Time is the fifth game in the Legend of Zelda series, and the first entry of this series on the Nintendo 64. This game was a landmark in the Zelda series, as it was the first entry to utilize 3D graphics. To this day, Ocarina of Time is recognized as one of the greatest video games ever made, and with good reason, as not only did it set the blueprints for future entries in the Zelda series, but it revolutionized gaming as we once saw it. In Ocarina Of Time you start out as a fairy-less Kokiri named Link. The Great Deku Tree, the guardian spirit of Link’s place of residence, the Kokiri Forest, sends Navi, a young fairy, to Link one fateful day, to alert him to an evil force attacking Hyrule. Link then ventures inside the Great Deku Tree to attempt to defend it from an evil force that was attacking it from the inside. After Link defeats the evil force, a giant maniacal parasite by the name of Gohma, the Great Deku Tree, with its dying breaths, tells Link to go to Hyrule Castle and seek out the Princess of Hyrule, as she holds the key to saving the land of Hyrule. After sneaking into Hyrule castle, Link encounters the princess. She tells him that Ganondorf, a diplomat from the Gerudo Desert who came to Hyrule supposedly to form an alliance with the kingdom, is an evil, power-hungry man trying to gain control of Hyrule. To prevent this from happening, Zelda sends Link on a quest to gather three spiritual stones that, once together, can open a door inside the Temple of Time, and grant access to the legendary sacred realm, a magical land that holds the key device to Ganondorf’s master plan, the golden power… The Triforce.
