After finishing Mattison’s Independence and The Search for Koltin, make your way back to Tarrey Town. There, Kilton and Hudson await with an exciting new side adventure: sculpting monsters for display. Speak to Kilton on the northern edge of town to officially launch A Monstrous Collection I.
Kilton and Hudson dream of creating life-sized sculptures of monsters—but first they need a reference. Their first subject? A classic Bokoblin. If you already have a photo saved on your Purah Pad, show it to Kilton and the sculpture will begin immediately. If not, it’s time to head out and capture the perfect shot.
Capturing the Perfect Snapshot
If you don’t already have a photo of a Bokoblin, there is a convenient avenue to capture one. Fast-travel to Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower—that scenic overlook often perches near Bokoblin camps. You’ll almost always find one roaming nearby. Approach calmly and use your Purah Pad’s camera (hold L, then press A) to take a clean shot where the Bokoblin is clearly visible in frame. If you’ve unlocked Camera Work in the Depths, you’ve unlocked this tool already. Be sure to save the image to your album—without that, Kilton and Hudson can’t see it.
Once saved, you may also want to add the picture to your Compendium for erasable convenience (and for setting up Sensor+, if you’ve unlocked that ability).
Returning to Tarrey Town
Back in town, head straight to Kilton—and don’t forget to bring Hudson along for the show. Scroll through your album until you see the Bokoblin photo marked with an “!” indicator, then present it. Instantly, the creation of your first monster sculpture begins.
Placing the Sculpture
Once Hudson has crafted the sculpture, grab it using Ultrahand and place it anywhere on the stage just behind Kilton. Don’t worry—any spot on that small platform works. Get creative with placement if you like—a mid-charge Bokoblin looks great off-center.
Enjoy the Reveal—and Claim Your Reward
Step back as Kilton unveils the new sculpture to the townsfolk. You’ll be rewarded with Monster Extract for your efforts. Plus, completing this quest triggers the start of A Monstrous Collection II, where you’ll hunt down a new monster to sculpt.
