Main Characters
Link
Our courageous hero in green! Whisked away by the Triforce to the troubled land of Holodrum, Link witnesses the capture of the dancer Din. Armed with his sword, courage, and the powerful Rod of Seasons, he must brave dungeons, conquer evil, and manipulate the very seasons themselves to rescue the Oracle and thwart the plans of darkness.
Din
The graceful and spirited Oracle of Seasons. Link first encounters her as a traveling dancer, unaware of her true divine nature. Din holds the power to command the four seasons, bringing harmony to Holodrum. When the General of Darkness, Onox, imprisons her in a crystal, the seasons spiral into chaos, withering the land. Freeing Din is Link’s ultimate goal in this adventure.
Onox, General of Darkness
The primary villain commanding respect and fear in *Oracle of Seasons*. This heavily armored general serves a dark power, descending upon Holodrum like a storm. He swiftly captures Din, unleashing seasonal chaos, and sinks the vital Temple of Seasons deep into the earth. His goal is to fuel the Flame of Destruction through the ensuing suffering. Link must eventually confront him in his Northern Peak fortress, facing both his formidable armored form wielding a giant flail and his terrifying dark dragon transformation.
Key Allies & Companions
Maku Tree
The ancient, wise guardian spirit of Holodrum, residing in Horon Village. The Maku Tree suffers greatly when the seasons fall into chaos. He tasks Link with gathering the eight Essences of Nature hidden in Holodrum’s dungeons. With each Essence collected, the Maku Tree’s vitality returns, allowing him to bestow Maku Seeds upon Link, revealing crucial paths and ultimately guiding him to Onox’s lair.
Maple
Syrup’s easily flustered witch apprentice. Maple flies erratically across Holodrum. Defeat enough enemies, and she might just zoom onto your screen! Colliding with her sends items scattering everywhere – hers and yours! Race her to grab valuable Gasha Seeds, Rings, Potions, or even a rare Piece of Heart before she snatches them (or your Rupees!).
Notable Inhabitants & Quest Givers
Bipin & Blossom
A young couple residing in Horon Village. Blossom has a baby early in the game. Throughout Link’s adventure, he can check in on them, offer Rupees to Bipin for the child’s care, and help Blossom choose a name. Your interactions subtly shape the child’s personality and growth over time – a unique long-term sidequest!
Piratian Captain
The jovial captain of the Piratians. These friendly pirates dock their ship near the Western Coast/Graveyard area late in the game. The Captain and his crew are instrumental in helping Link gain access to the Explorer’s Crypt dungeon area, often requiring Link to retrieve a stolen item for them first.
Races & Groups
Subrosians
The enigmatic, cloaked inhabitants of Subrosia, a volcanic world beneath Holodrum accessible via portals. They thrive in heat, use Ore Chunks as currency, and love to dance and trade at their Market. Key Subrosians include the talented Smithy, who offers weapon and shield upgrades, the Market vendors selling unique goods (like bombs and rare stones), and the enthusiastic participants in the Subrosian Dance Hall.
Gorons
The familiar, friendly, rock-munching race from Hyrule also populates Goron Mountain in Holodrum. Link must navigate their tricky mountain paths and interact with various Gorons, including the Goron Elder, to progress towards later dungeons. They also feature prominently in certain mini-games.
Shadowy Figures
Twinrova (Koume and Kotake)
The sinister Gerudo twin witches, Koume and Kotake, serve as the hidden antagonists masterminding the chaos across both Holodrum and Labrynna (*Oracle of Ages*). While they remain largely behind the scenes in a standard playthrough of *Seasons*, their full plot is revealed in a Linked Game. They directed Onox to capture Din and ignite the Flame of Destruction, part of their larger scheme to resurrect the Demon King, Ganon.
Holodrum is teeming with life! Beyond these key figures, countless other villagers, creatures, and wanderers populate the world, offering hints, challenges, and making Link’s journey through the seasons truly immersive.
