Quest: A Picture for Foothill Stable
Location: Foothill Stable (Eldin region, southeast of Death Mountain, near Mo’a Keet Shrine)
Quest Giver: The Stable Owner (prompted by interacting with the empty picture frame inside the stable)
Picture Time: Volcanic Views!
Make your way to Foothill Stable, located in the Eldin region, pretty close to the base of Death Mountain. The Mo’a Keet Shrine right next to it makes for easy warping.
Your Mission: Capture the Caldera!
Find the Frame: Head inside the main stable building. Look on the walls for an empty, square picture frame. Walk up to it and press A to examine it.
Get the Request: Examining the frame should prompt the stable owner (usually standing nearby behind the counter or walking inside) to talk to you. They’ll mention wanting a picture of the magnificent Death Mountain to fill the frame.
Ready Your Camera: Activate your Purah Pad’s Camera function (hold L to open the ability wheel, select Camera).
Find a Good Vantage Point: Step outside the stable. You need a clear, unobstructed view of Death Mountain’s peak. You don’t need to climb it! Standing a little way south or southeast of the stable often works well. Try to get a shot where the whole peak is visible, preferably during the daytime with clear weather.
Take the Picture: Aim the camera (ZL if needed to focus). Make sure the game recognizes the subject – you should see the text “Death Mountain” appear near your viewfinder, or the quest objective might update on screen. When you have a good shot lined up, press A to snap the photo. Check your Album (- menu -> Album) to make sure it looks decent.
Return to the Stable: Go back inside Foothill Stable.
Show the Photo: Talk to the stable owner again. Choose the dialogue option to show them the picture you took. If it meets their criteria (a clear shot of Death Mountain), they’ll be delighted!
The Payoff:
- 1 Pony Point: Added to your Stable Trotter Member Card.
- Stable Specialty Meal: The owner will treat you to a free meal, usually specific to that stable (often something heat-resistant or Goron-inspired).
- Your Photo Displayed: Your picture of Death Mountain will now be proudly displayed in the frame inside the stable!
