Quest: Lurelin Village Restoration Project
Location: Lurelin Village (Faron Sea coast, Southeast Hyrule)
Prerequisite: MUST defeat all Monster Forces pirates in Lurelin Village AND on their ship in the bay first.
Quest Giver: Bolson (initially), then Hudson joins. Find Bolson near the village entrance after it’s liberated.
Operation: Rebuild Lurelin is a GO!
First, the big requirement: You absolutely must clear Lurelin Village of the Monster Forces pirates. Every last Bokoblin, Lizalfos, and Moblin on land and on the ship in the bay needs to be defeated. Once the “Monster Forces Defeated!” message appears, the rightful villagers will start to return.
Your Mission: From Ruins to Resort!
Phase 1: Gathering Foundational Supplies
Liberate the Village: If you haven’t already, systematically defeat all monsters in Lurelin Village and on the pirate ship. (See “The Gathering Pirates” guide if needed).
Find Bolson: Once the village is safe, look for Bolson (the guy with the pink bandana). He usually appears near the main entrance archway of Lurelin Village once the villagers start returning. Talk to him to express interest in helping.
Meet Hudson: Bolson will call in his business partner, Hudson (the guy with the impressive hair). They’ll set up shop in the main plaza area. Talk to them together.
The Big Request: They need two bulk resources to get started:
- 15 Logs: These are the actual tree trunks, not bundles of Wood. Chop down trees (any kind) with an axe or sword.
- Transport Tips: You can carry them one by one with Ultrahand (
L
), fuse several together into a long chain, attach them to your horse’s towing harness (if available), or build a simple Zonai cart (Platform + Wheels + Steering Stick) to haul multiple logs at once. - Good Log Locations: Forests near stables (e.g., Rito Stable, Tabantha Bridge Stable), Rutile Lake on Satori Mountain, Applean Forest near Hateno.
- Transport Tips: You can carry them one by one with Ultrahand (
- 20 Hylian Rice: This grassy grain is needed for food supplies.
- Gathering Tips: Cut down tall, light-green grass in fields, especially common in East Necluda (around Hateno Village and Fort Hateno) and West Necluda. Use a sword with a wide swing.
- Buying Tips: You can also buy Hylian Rice from various merchants, including the General Store in Hateno Village.
Deliver the Materials: Bring the 15 Logs and 20 Hylian Rice back to Bolson and Hudson in the main plaza of Lurelin Village. Talk to them to hand over the supplies.
Phase 2: Restoring Individual Buildings
Talk to Bolson Again: After delivering the bulk supplies, talk to Bolson. He’ll now manage the restoration of individual buildings, asking for your help with specific tasks.
Follow Bolson’s Lead: He will guide you through restoring key structures, usually one at a time. Each typically involves:
- Bringing Logs: He’ll ask you to bring a specific number of Logs (usually 1-5) to the building site.
- Using Ultrahand: You’ll often need to use Ultrahand (
L
) to lift and precisely place the logs into designated spots to repair walls or foundations, following Bolson’s directions.
Key Buildings to Restore (Bolson will direct you):
- The Village Restaurant
- The Lucky Treasure Shop (Inn)
- The Village Head’s House
- Various Villager Homes
- The Fishermen’s Boatsheds/Docks
The Payoff:
This is a major, multi-stage quest with fantastic rewards!
Rupees: You get paid well for the initial resource delivery and for helping with each subsequent building repair.
Restored Services: As you fix buildings, their services become available again!
- Free Inn Stays: The Lucky Treasure Shop owner offers free stays.
- Free Meals: The restaurant owner gives free meals.
- Lucky Treasure Game: Access to the gambling mini-game.
- Valuable Fish: Fishermen reward you with high-quality fish.
Monster Control Crew HQ: Fully restoring the village makes it the HQ for the Monster Control Crew, allowing you to claim rewards if you’ve helped their squads elsewhere.
Vibrant Village: Lurelin becomes a beautiful, bustling location again.
Roll up your sleeves, grab your Ultrahand, and let’s get building!
