Quest: Strongest in the World
Location: Near Tarrey Town (often near Hudson Construction site, cliffs, or Goron gathering spots outside town).
Quest Giver: A group of Gorons posing a lifting challenge.
Goron-Style Strength Test! (With Brains!)
Explore the areas just outside Tarrey Town, paying particular attention to the Hudson Construction site (south of town), nearby cliffs, or any open clearings where you might see a group of Gorons gathered around a ridiculously large and heavy object. It could be a giant metal cube, a huge stone slab, or bundled construction beams. They’re hosting a strength challenge!
Your Mission: Lift the Unliftable!
Find the Goron Crew: Locate the enthusiastic group of Gorons and their challenge object. They’ll likely be making a ruckus about strength.
Talk to the Leader: Approach the main Goron overseeing the challenge and talk to him (A
button). Accept their test of strength. There might be a small Rupee fee to participate.
Initial Lift Attempt (and fail): Walk up to the heavy object. Select your Ultrahand ability (L
). Try to lift the object. It will almost certainly be too heavy, indicated by Link straining and the object barely budging or showing a “too heavy” icon.
Time for Zonai Ingenuity: Realizing brute Ultrahand strength isn’t enough, you need to use physics and Zonai devices:
- Open your inventory (
+
) and pull out Zonai Devices like Rockets and/or Balloons (Octorok or Zonai). You might also need a Flame Emitter if using Zonai Balloons, or maybe a Stabilizer. - Use Ultrahand to attach the devices to the heavy object.
- Rockets: Attach them to the top or sides, facing upwards to provide lift. You’ll likely need several.
- Balloons: Attach Zonai Balloons to the top, then place a Flame Emitter underneath each balloon, pointing up at it, to inflate them. Or, use multiple Octorok Balloons (they inflate automatically but disappear faster).
- Stabilizers: Can be attached to help keep the object steady once lifted, but focus on lift first.
Activate and Lift: Once your devices are attached, position yourself, activate Ultrahand again aiming at the object (not just the devices), and then hit the attached devices with your weapon to activate them (Rockets will fire, Flame Emitters will ignite balloons). As the devices provide lift, your Ultrahand should now be able to lift the object fully.
Meet the Goal: The Gorons might require you to simply lift it off the ground, hold it steady for a few seconds, or lift it onto a nearby designated platform. Follow their instructions while keeping the object held with Ultrahand and the devices active.
Success! Once you’ve met the lifting requirement, the Gorons will acknowledge your incredible (and clever) feat of strength!
The Payoff:
The Gorons will be amazed and congratulate you (Goron style!). Your reward usually includes:
- A good pile of Rupees.
- Possibly some handy Zonai Devices (like Rockets or Batteries).
- Maybe some Zonaite or Crystallized Charges.
- Undeniable proof that brains can beat brawn (or at least augment it significantly)!
Show those Gorons how it’s done! Work smart, lift hard!
