Fowl Rumors in Akkala!

This mystery takes you to South Akkala Stable, located in the Akkala region near the large bridge (Akkala Span) leading towards Tarrey Town (closest shrine is often Mayachideg Shrine). You’re looking for Penn, the intrepid Rito reporter from the Lucky Clover Gazette.

Your Mission: Investigate the Talking Chicken!

1. Find Penn: Locate Penn at South Akkala Stable. He’s usually around during the daytime, perhaps near the stable entrance, talking to stable hands, or specifically looking at the Cucco pen located nearby. Look for the Rito in reporter gear.
2. Get the Strange Story: Talk to Penn (A button). He’ll tell you about a very weird rumor: people claim to have heard one of the Cuccos talking, possibly even sounding like Princess Zelda! He needs you to check out this bizarre claim.
3. Identify the Suspect Cucco: Penn or the stable hands will point you towards the specific Cucco that’s supposedly the source of the voice. It might be slightly isolated from the others, often near a prominent tree close to the stable or Cucco pen.
4. Approach and Listen: Walk towards the designated Cucco. You’ll likely start hearing the “voice.” Listen carefully. Does it really sound like it’s coming from the bird? The Cucco itself should just be making normal clucking sounds. The voice seems… misplaced.
5. Look Up! (Usually): The voice isn’t coming from the Cucco, but from nearby, often from above. Scan the immediate surroundings, paying close attention to the branches of the large tree the Cucco is usually near.
6. Spot the Imposter: Aha! Hiding up in the tree branches (or sometimes behind a rock nearby), you’ll spot the real source – a Yiga Footsoldier in disguise! They’re the ones throwing their voice (badly) to imitate Zelda and sow confusion.
7. Confront and Battle: Aim your bow at the Yiga member, shoot an arrow, or climb the tree to confront them directly. Once discovered, they’ll drop their disguise and attack!
8. Defeat the Yiga: Take down the Yiga Footsoldier using your preferred combat methods. They’ll disappear in a puff of smoke as usual.
9. Return to Penn: Go back to Penn at the stable.
10. Report the Hoax: Talk to Penn and tell him the talking Cucco was just another Yiga Clan trick. Mystery solved!

The Payoff:

• Rupees: Penn rewards your investigative work with Rupees, potentially more if you’ve done several Gazette quests.
• Questline Progress: Successfully debunking the rumor counts towards the “Potential Princess Sightings!” main quest, getting you closer to the final rewards (Froggy Armor set).

Looks like that rumor was just a load of… cluck.
