After the events at the Sanctuary, your objective is to inform Princess Zelda of the recent happenings. Return to Hyrule Castle, where the guards, recognizing the urgency, grant you entry. Inside, take a moment to observe the paintings depicting events from A Link to the Past, enriching the game’s lore.
As you explore, a woman appears and guides you upstairs to meet Princess Zelda. A cutscene ensues, during which Zelda acknowledges the gravity of the situation and provides guidance for your journey ahead.
Your next destination is Kakariko Village, now marked on your map. Upon arrival, locate Sahasrahla’s house and engage in conversation with him. He provides insights about the Eastern Palace and the challenges that lie ahead. Before departing, consider visiting the village shop to purchase a shield, which will prove beneficial in upcoming encounters.
Exit Kakariko Village and head east toward the Eastern Palace. Along the way, you’ll encounter two purple switches near columns marked with a bow and arrow symbol. This indicates the need for a Bow to proceed. Return to your house, now occupied by Ravio’s shop. Engage in dialogue with Ravio, and he’ll offer to rent you the Bow, free of charge for the first time.
With the Bow equipped, return to the area with the switches. Stand atop the steps and shoot both switches simultaneously to open the gate ahead. Proceed through, navigating past the Armos statues to reach the entrance of the Eastern Palace. Here, you meet Osfala, who shares his perspective on the challenges within. After the conversation, save your progress at the nearby weather vane and prepare to enter the dungeon, marking the beginning of a new chapter in your adventure.
