Main Characters & Key Figures

Link
Summoned by the Triforce once again, Link finds himself in the land of Labrynna. Armed with his courage and sword, he quickly gets embroiled in a plot spanning centuries. Link must master the Harp of Ages to travel between Labrynna’s Present and Past, navigate treacherous dungeons, gather the Essences of Time, and ultimately rescue the Oracle of Ages to restore balance to the land.

Nayru (Oracle of Ages)
The titular Oracle of Ages, Nayru possesses the power to influence and travel through time. Known for her beautiful singing voice which brings joy to humans and animals alike, she is initially disguised as a traveling singer. She is kind, gentle, and deeply connected to the flow of time in Labrynna. Her possession by the sorceress Veran sets the main conflict in motion, disrupting time and aiding Queen Ambi’s ambitions in the Past.

Veran (Sorceress of Shadows)
The primary antagonist, Veran is a cunning and cruel sorceress serving the Gerudo witches Twinrova. She initially possesses Impa to get close to Nayru, then possesses the Oracle herself. Using Nayru’s powers, Veran travels to Labrynna’s Past, manipulating Queen Ambi and throwing the timeline into chaos to fill the world with sorrow, which is needed to light the Flame of Sorrow for Twinrova’s ultimate plan. She is ruthless and power-hungry, taking various forms throughout her encounters with Link.

Ralph
A childhood friend of Nayru from Lynna City. Ralph is impulsive, often arrogant, and fiercely protective of Nayru, though his attempts to help often complicate matters for Link. He considers himself Nayru’s sworn protector and Link’s rival. Despite his rash nature, his heart is in the right place, and he undergoes noticeable character development, eventually learning to trust and cooperate with Link. He is later revealed to be a descendant of Queen Ambi herself.

Impa
Princess Zelda’s loyal nursemaid, sent to Labrynna to safely retrieve Nayru. Unfortunately, she is briefly possessed by Veran upon arrival, allowing the sorceress access to the Oracle. After being freed, Impa provides guidance to Link, recognizing him as the hero needed to save Labrynna. She directs him towards the Maku Tree and offers advice throughout his quest.

Queen Ambi
The powerful and ambitious ruler of Labrynna in the Past. Initially portrayed as a benevolent queen, she becomes obsessed with constructing “Ambi’s Tower” after being influenced by the Veran-possessed Nayru, whose prophecies guide her actions. This obsession causes her to neglect her people and over-exploit Labrynna’s resources (like the Gorons). She has a complex relationship with the past, unknowingly interacting with her own descendant, Ralph.

Maku Tree (Labrynna)
The ancient, wise guardian spirit of Labrynna, located in Lynna City. While initially weak and small in the Present due to Veran’s actions disrupting time, Link’s progress gathering the Essences of Time restores the Maku Tree’s power. The Maku Tree provides Link with crucial information, guidance, and eventually the Maku Seed needed to confront Veran within Queen Ambi’s Tower.
The Oracles & Related Figures

Din (Oracle of Seasons)
While the main protagonist of Oracle of Seasons, Din, the spirited Oracle of Seasons herself, makes a cameo appearance in Oracle of Ages. Link can meet her via a Linked Game secret, often found practicing her energetic dancing. Meeting her under the right conditions grants Link a significant sword upgrade.

Farore (Oracle of Secrets)
Residing within a hidden chamber inside the Maku Tree, Farore holds the unique title “Oracle of Secrets.” Primarily relevant in a Linked Game, she acts as the keeper of passwords, allowing Link to transfer secret codes learned in Oracle of Seasons to unlock powerful items, character interactions, or upgrades in Ages, and vice-versa. She’s essential for experiencing the full interconnected story.
Animal Companions

Ricky
A tough-talking kangaroo with impressive boxing skills and a spunky attitude. If Link secures Ricky’s Flute (often by retrieving his gloves), Ricky becomes his partner, helping traverse grassy plains, jump small pits, and clear bushes or defeat minor enemies with rapid-fire punches and whirlwind attacks. He hangs out north of Lynna City in the Present.

Dimitri
A large, friendly red Dodongo who prefers swimming to eating rocks (usually!). If Link obtains Dimitri’s Flute (often involving the Subrosian dance contest prize), Dimitri helps Link navigate deep water, swim against currents, and even scale waterfalls. He can also gobble up certain enemies and obstacles. Link first rescues him from becoming Tokay stew on Crescent Island.

Moosh
A large, fuzzy, blue bear equipped with small wings. If Moosh’s Flute becomes Link’s choice (often the default), Moosh helps Link by hovering across series of pits or large gaps for a short time. He’s not fond of water but loves his bananas. He can also perform a ground pound attack to damage nearby foes.
Key Figures Across Time

Maple
The apprentice witch under her grandmother Syrup (who appears in Seasons). Maple zips around Labrynna on her broom (or sometimes a vacuum cleaner!), often colliding with Link. These bumps cause both characters to drop items (Rupees, Hearts, Seeds, Rings), leading to a mad dash to collect everything. She’s always looking for valuable items and provides humorous recurring encounters. In a Linked Game, she even upgrades her ride!

Vasu Jeweler
The proprietor of Vasu Jewelers in Lynna City (Present). He’s the go-to guy for all things related to Magic Rings. He gives Link his first Ring Box, appraises any rings Link finds (unlocking their powers), and stores duplicates. Essential for engaging with the extensive ring collection system.

Cheval
An inventor encountered in Labrynna’s Past, dedicating his life to creating advanced flippers and other tools, inspired by the Zora. He leaves behind crucial research notes and the Cheval Rope item. His legacy is key to Link obtaining upgraded swimming gear.

Rafton
A hopeful inventor found in Lynna City in the Present. He dreams of building a sturdy raft to navigate coastal waters but lacks certain knowledge. By interacting with Cheval’s ghost and bringing knowledge (via the Zora Scale) from the Past, Link helps Rafton realize his dream, gaining access to his raft for exploration in return. This pair showcases the importance of connecting past and present knowledge.

Patch
The somewhat stressed caretaker of Symmetry City (or rather, the ceremony to restore it). In the Past, Link finds him on Restoration Wall near the original city’s location. Link must participate in Patch’s unique block-pushing puzzle “Restoration Ceremony” to repair the sacred Tuni Nut, which magically restores balance and rebuilds Symmetry City in the Present.

Captain (Stalfos Pirate)
The skeletal remains of a once-great pirate captain whose ship is stranded in the Sea of Storms in Labrynna’s Past. He cannot rest or lead his crew without his missing skull. Link discovers the skull being used by Tokay pranksters in the Present and must return it to the Captain in the Past. Doing so reunites the Captain with his body and earns Link passage across the dangerous seas. It’s later revealed he was Queen Ambi’s lost love, adding a tragic layer to his tale.
Notable Residents & Races

Mayor Plen
The current mayor of Lynna City in the Present time period. He offers Link some initial context about the city and Nayru’s disappearance.

Gorons
This familiar rock-eating race inhabits Rolling Ridge in both time periods. In the Past, they endure forced labor, mining Bomb Flowers for Queen Ambi’s Tower under harsh guard supervision. Link often needs to navigate their tunnels and interact with them to progress. In the Present, they have a thriving community featuring mini-games like Goron Dancing (a rhythm challenge) and Target Carts, offering unique prizes and heart pieces.

Zoras
The aquatic race residing in Zora Village. In the Past, their domain suffers from pollution, and their ruler, King Zora, is deathly ill until Link finds Fairy Powder to cure him. Restoring the King is crucial for accessing later areas. In the Present, Zora Village is vibrant, but requires the Mermaid Suit for full exploration. The Zoras guard one of the Essences of Time within their ancient tomb.

Tokay
A primitive, somewhat greedy tribe of lizard-like beings inhabiting Crescent Island exclusively in the Past. Upon Link’s arrival, they steal all his equipment! Link must engage in a series of trades and tasks across their island settlement, dealing with their bartering nature to retrieve his sword, shield, and other items before he can escape the island.
Other Figures

Great Fairy
Benevolent spirits found in hidden springs or caves. Visiting a Great Fairy fully restores Link’s health. Some may offer upgrades, like increasing wallet size or Bomb Bag capacity, often in exchange for Rupees or after completing specific tasks.

Mamamu Yan
A resident of Lynna City (Present) who adores her pet dog. When her dog goes missing early in the game, she tasks Link with finding it, an event that can lead Link to meeting Ricky the kangaroo.

Adlar
Queen Ambi’s perpetually nervous royal advisor in Labrynna’s Past. He often expresses concern over the Queen’s single-minded focus on her tower construction and the suspicious influence of the Veran-possessed Nayru, but seems powerless to intervene directly.

Tingle
Making his series debut, the eccentric man obsessed with fairies and maps appears floating on a balloon near Symmetry City in the Past. If Link provides him with an Island Chart obtained from the Tokay, Tingle rewards him with an upgraded Seed Satchel capable of holding more Mystical Seeds. Kooloo-Limpah!
The Grand Antagonists

Koume
One half of the Gerudo witch duo Twinrova (identified by her red magic/associations). Alongside her sister Kotake, she masterminds the plots in both Labrynna and Holodrum from behind the scenes, seeking to ignite the Flames of Sorrow and Destruction.

Kotake
The other half of Twinrova (identified by her blue magic/associations). Working in tandem with Koume, she directs Veran and Onox in their respective lands. Their ultimate goal is to perform a dark ritual using the gathered flames to resurrect their surrogate son and Demon King, Ganon. Twinrova only confronts Link directly in a Linked Game scenario after both Veran and Onox have been defeated.
