How to Obtain: First obtained in Snake’s Remains (Level 2), then widely available for purchase or found from enemies/grass.
Mystical Seeds & Seed Satchel/Slingshot
Found growing on Mystical Trees throughout Holodrum and Subrosia, and refilled by cutting grass or defeating enemies. Used with the Slingshot.

Ember Seeds
Burn small bushes/trees blocking paths, light torches to solve puzzles or illuminate dark rooms, and inflict fire damage on enemies.

Scent Seeds
Produce an aroma that attracts certain monsters (useful for farming specific drops) or can be used as bait (e.g., required to lure Dimitri).

Pegasus Seeds
Provide a temporary burst of super-speed. Used to dash across crumbling floors or quickly falling bridges, rapidly cross large areas, jump further when combined with Roc’s Feather/Cape, and stun certain enemies (like Armos).

Rod of Seasons & Essences of Nature
The key artifact for manipulating the seasons, essential for navigating Holodrum’s changing landscape.

Rod of Seasons
Initially powerless, it gains the ability to change the season (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) when Link stands on a tree stump and swings the rod after acquiring the corresponding Jewel/Spirit. Different seasons alter the environment, opening new paths (hardened snow, frozen water), revealing secrets (dried lakes, blooming flowers), growing climbable vines, or changing enemy patterns.
How to Obtain: Found in the Temple of Seasons within Subrosia early in the game. Its power is gradually unlocked by receiving blessings from the four Season Spirits housed within the temple’s towers.

Essences of Nature (8 Total)

Linked Game Items (Require connection with Oracle of Ages)
A core feature involves linking Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages via Game Boy Color link cable or passwords (on Virtual Console). This unlocks additional content, including:

Master Sword (L−3)

Mirror Shield (L−3)
The best shield, capable of reflecting beam attacks. Also obtained via linked game secrets (often involving the Subrosian Smithy or specific linked NPC quests).

Bombchus

Ring Box (L−3)
Final upgrade allowing Link to carry up to 5 appraised Magical Rings at once.
How to Obtain: Obtained via a linked secret received from Vasu Jewelers after meeting certain conditions in the linked game.

Extra Heart Container
An additional Heart Container beyond those found in the main game’s dungeons and Heart Pieces.
How to Obtain: Available via linking, often found in a hidden linked-game exclusive area or given by a specific linked character.
Additional Storyline
Linking unlocks an extended ending involving Twinrova and the true final boss, Ganon, after defeating Onox in Seasons and Veran in Ages in a linked playthrough.
Shared Secrets
Characters in one game will give passwords (‘secrets’) that can be told to specific characters in the other linked game to unlock items, upgrades (like sword/shield/bomb bag/seed satchel carrying capacity), or ring transfers between the games.
Mastering the use of these items and understanding how they interact with the Rod of Seasons is crucial for exploring Holodrum, conquering its dungeons, and ultimately stopping the General of Darkness, Onox.
