Side Quests

​In The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, side quests offer engaging diversions from the main storyline, rewarding players with Gratitude Crystals, Heart Pieces, and other valuable items.

Skyward Sword Side Quests:

Find Kukiel (Lost Child):

  • Availability: After placing the Ruby Tablet inside the Statue of the Goddess.
  • Starting NPC: Wryna, near the Goddess Statue in Skyloft.
  • Reward: 5 Gratitude Crystals
  • Description: Kukiel has gone missing, and her mother is worried. Investigate her disappearance to uncover a hidden secret beneath Skyloft.

Missing Sister (Orielle’s Injured Loftwing):

  • Availability: After completing “Find Kukiel.”
  • Starting NPC: Parrow, in Skyloft Plaza during the day.
  • Reward: 10 Gratitude Crystals and an Empty Bottle.
  • Description: Parrow’s sister, Orielle, is stranded on an island between Fun Fun Island and Skyloft. Deliver Mushroom Spores to heal her Loftwing and ensure her safe return.

The Haunted Restroom (Cawlin’s Love Letter):

  • Availability: After obtaining the Goddess’s Harp and defeating The Imprisoned for the first time.
  • Starting NPC: Cawlin, in the Knight Academy.
  • Reward: 5 Gratitude Crystals.
  • Description: Cawlin asks you to deliver a love letter to Karane. Alternatively, you can give the letter to the mysterious voice in the Knight Academy’s restroom. Your choice affects the outcome.

Fledge’s Workout:

  • Availability: After completing the Sandship.
  • Starting NPC: Fledge, in his room at the Knight Academy at night.
  • Reward: 5 Gratitude Crystals and unlocks the Pumpkin Pull minigame.
  • Description: Fledge wants to become stronger but lacks endurance. Provide him with Stamina Potions over several nights to help him build strength.

Missing Baby Rattle:

  • Availability: After finding Kukiel and clearing Nayru’s Silent Realm trial.
  • Starting NPC: Bertie, in his house at night.
  • Reward: 5 Gratitude Crystals.
  • Description: Bertie’s baby can’t sleep without its rattle. Use the Clawshots to retrieve it from a bird’s nest atop the Waterfall Island.

Cleaning Pipit’s House:

  • Availability: After obtaining the Gust Bellows.
  • Starting NPC: Mallara, Pipit’s mother, in their house during the day.
  • Reward: 5 Gratitude Crystals and 20 Rupees.
  • Description: Mallara’s house is filled with dust. Use the Gust Bellows to clean it thoroughly.

Item Check Crush (Peatrice’s Crush):

  • Availability: After finding Kukiel and after Peatrice starts calling you “darling.”
  • Starting NPC: Peatrice, at the Item Check during the day.
  • Reward: 5 Gratitude Crystals.
  • Description: Peatrice has developed feelings for you. Decide whether to reciprocate her feelings or gently reject her advances.

Missing Crystal Ball:

  • Availability: After finding Kukiel and defeating The Imprisoned for the second time.
  • Starting NPC: Sparrot, the fortune teller, in his house at night.
  • Reward: 5 Gratitude Crystals and half-price fortune telling.
  • Description: Sparrot’s crystal ball is broken. Retrieve a new one from the Earth Temple’s entrance using Scrapper’s assistance.

Plow Needed (Kina’s Pumpkin Harvest):

  • Availability: After finding Kukiel and defeating The Imprisoned for the second time.
  • Starting NPC: Kina, at the Lumpy Pumpkin during the day.
  • Reward: 5 Gratitude Crystals.
  • Description: Kina needs help plowing the pumpkin fields. Find someone suitable to assist her.

Fixing Fun Fun Island (Dodoh’s Party Wheel):

  • Availability: After fixing Scrapper.
  • Starting NPC: Dodoh, on Fun Fun Island.
  • Reward: 5 Gratitude Crystals and access to the Skydiving Roulette minigame.
  • Description: Dodoh’s Party Wheel is missing. Locate it in Lanayru Desert and have Scrapper transport it back to Fun Fun Island.

Beedle’s Missing Beetle:

  • Availability: After finding Kukiel, talking to Strich on Bug Rock, and defeating Bilocyte.
  • Starting NPC: Beedle, in his shop at night.
  • Reward: 5 Gratitude Crystals and a half-price discount on one item at Beedle’s Shop.
  • Description: Beedle’s prized Horned Colossus Beetle is missing.

Cracked Crystal Ball Sidequest (Missing Crystal Ball):

  • Availability: After defeating The Imprisoned for the second time and obtaining the Clawshots.
  • Starting NPC: Sparrot, the fortune teller, in his house on the eastern side of Skyloft.
  • Reward: 5 Gratitude Crystals and a 50% discount on future fortune readings.
  • Description: Sparrot’s crystal ball has shattered, leaving him unable to perform fortune-telling.

Undocumented Plants Sidequest (Owlan’s Plant Collection):

  • Availability: After defeating Bilocyte and finding Kukiel.
  • Starting NPC: Instructor Owlan, in his room at the Knight Academy.
  • Reward: 5 Gratitude Crystals.
  • Description: Instructor Owlan seeks an exotic plant species to study. He requests Link to find such a plant from the surface.

Pumpkin Patch Plower Sidequest (Plow Needed):

  • Availability: After defeating The Imprisoned for the second time and finding Kukiel.
  • Starting NPC: Kina, at the pumpkin patch on Pumpkin Landing (Lumpy Pumpkin).
  • Reward: 5 Gratitude Crystals.
  • Description: Kina needs assistance plowing the pumpkin field. She asks Link if he knows someone suitable for the task.
