Introducing Your First Gratitude Crystal Sidequest
Welcome to the next Skyward Sword guide in our series at Zelda Central. In this adventure you will rescue the missing Crystal Ball belonging to Sparrot, the fortune teller in Skyloft. Completing his request earns you five valuable Gratitude Crystals and a cheaper fortune‑telling session.
When the Fortune Teller Disappears
After defeating The Imprisoned—or Bilocyte—on the Surface a second time and witnessing Levias’s lifespan restored, Sparrot no longer stands at his usual post in the Bazaar. Townsfolk gossip that his crystal ball broke and he has been sulking at home ever since. That absence is your cue to begin this sentimental sidequest.
Seeking Sparrot’s Crystal Ball
Make your way to the eastern edge of Skyloft. Under a low land bridge near Gondo’s house you’ll find Sparrot seated in his modest cottage. When you step inside, he quietly confesses his eyes feel dull without the ball he once gazed into. With gentle gratitude, he asks if Link could find another crystal ball on the Surface.
A Strange Orb Above the Earth Temple
Far below lies Eldin Volcano, with its fiery winds circling the Earth Temple’s entrance. Glide down to the bird statue guard and look upward. There sits a glassy orb above the temple doors—the missing crystal ball. It hovers just out of reach.

Riding the Wind to Redemption
Head left of the temple’s headstone entrance and dig into a soft patch of earth to uncover a sudden gust of warm air. Launch yourself skyward and parachute up to a higher platform. Equip the Clawshot and lock onto the metallic target lining the temple wall. After that pull Fi will exclaim that she’s found Sparrot’s crystal ball. She instructs Scrapper, Gondo’s robotic companion, to retrieve it and return it to the sky.

Stars Descending in Skyloft
With the crystal ball in hand, soar back to Skyloft and return to the cottage. A teary‑eyed Sparrot can scarcely believe what he sees. He beams and thanks you for restoring his sight of the future. He rewards your good deed with five Gratitude Crystals and offers fortune‑telling at half the usual price from then on. This quest concludes with the signature blend of Skyward Sword sentiment and soaring redemption.
