	Link The courageous protagonist of Tears of the Kingdom, Link is a young Hylian renowned for his bravery and determination. In this installment, he faces a rising darkness threatening Hyrule. Link gains new abilities, such as fusing objects to create powerful weapons and vehicles, manipulating time, and using the “Ultrahand” to move and assemble items in the environment. These skills are essential as he navigates the expansive world of Hyrule to restore peace and rescue Princess Zelda.
	Princess Zelda As the princess of Hyrule, Zelda plays a central role in the game’s narrative. She is depicted as a wise and compassionate leader, embodying the Triforce of Wisdom. In Tears of the Kingdom, Zelda’s story unfolds as she and Link accidentally awaken Ganondorf beneath Hyrule Castle, leading to her disappearance into the distant past. 	Ganondorf Ganondorf, also known as the Gerudo King, is the primary antagonist in Tears of the Kingdom. He seeks to conquer Hyrule and obtain the Triforce to dominate the world. In this installment, he returns in his human form, resuming his role as the final boss. Initially seen performing chores outside Impa’s home, she later assumes the role of village chief, succeeding her grandmother. 	Traysi A zealous Hylian investigative journalist, Traysi is renowned as the author of the “Rumor Mill,” a publication offering insights and hints about Hyrule’s happenings. Hyrule Castle & Castle Town Ruins

King Rhoam The former King of Hyrule and father to Princess Zelda, King Rhoam played a pivotal role in the kingdom’s history. Prior to the Great Calamity, he sought to unite Hyrule’s diverse factions to combat emerging threats. Although he perished during the Calamity, his legacy and decisions continue to influence the events unfolding in Tears of the Kingdom.

Rito Village

Nestled within the Tabantha Frontier, Rito Village is the mountainous home of the avian Rito people. Built around a central rock spire and connected by wooden walkways, it stands as a testament to the Rito’s harmonious relationship with the skies.​

	Teba A valiant Rito warrior who previously aided Link in defending Rito Village. In Tears of the Kingdom, Teba ascends to the position of village elder, succeeding Kaneli. As leader, he oversees the village’s well-being and prepares his son, Tulin, for future responsibilities.

Zora’s Domain (Lanayru Region)

Korok Forest (Great Hyrule Forest)

At the heart of the Great Hyrule Forest lies the mystical Korok Forest, home to the enigmatic Koroks and the revered Great Deku Tree. Shrouded in mystery and often challenging to navigate, it holds ancient secrets and sacred sites.​

	Great Deku Tree The Great Deku Tree serves as the guardian spirit of Korok Forest and protector of the Master Sword. In Tears of the Kingdom, he falls ill due to the infiltration of Gloom into the forest, which manifests as the Deku Tree Chasm within him. Link aids in purging this corruption, restoring the Great Deku Tree’s vitality and securing the safety of the Master Sword.
	Hestu Hestu is an oversized, endearing Korok who assists Link by expanding his inventory capacity in exchange for Korok Seeds. Initially found near Lindor’s Brow, northwest of Lookout Landing, Hestu later relocates to Lookout Landing after Link helps alleviate his fears of the surrounding dangers. His maracas and joyful dances are emblematic of his cheerful personality.

	Mineru Mineru is one of the last remaining Zonai and the elder sister of Rauru, the first king of Hyrule.
