Quest: Meat for Meat
Location: Tarrey Town (Akkala Region)
Quest Giver: Mezer, a Goron Merchant often near the General Store or central plaza.
Trade Offer: Delicious Meats!
While wandering Tarrey Town during the daytime, keep an eye out for a specific Goron merchant named Mezer. He’s usually found standing near the Tarrey Town General Store building or somewhere in the central plaza area, often talking about or displaying food. He’s not just selling; he wants to trade meat!
Your Mission: The Great Meat Swap!
Find Mezer: Locate the Goron merchant, Mezer, in Tarrey Town.
Talk Trade: Start a conversation (A
button). Mezer will explain his offer. Typically, the trades are:
- He wants 1x Raw Meat, and offers 1x Raw Prime Meat in return.
- OR, he might want 1x Raw Prime Meat, and offer 1x Raw Gourmet Meat in return.
- Confirm the exact trade he’s currently offering.
Accept the Quest (if needed): Agree to make the trade.
Go Hunting (if necessary): Check your inventory (+
-> Materials) first! If you don’t have the meat Mezer wants:
- Raw Meat: Hunt smaller animals like deer, boar, foxes. Common in grassy fields like Hyrule Field, Tabantha Frontier meadows, Akkala Highlands.
- Raw Prime Meat: Hunt medium-large animals like wolves, bears, moose, larger deer/boar. Found in colder regions (Hebra, Gerudo Highlands, Tabantha Tundra), forests, and sometimes grasslands.
- Raw Gourmet Meat: Hunt the largest, toughest animals like bears, moose, water buffalo. Found in Tabantha Tundra, Hebra Mountains, Faron Grasslands (near lakes/rivers).
Return to Mezer: Once you have the required piece of raw meat, go back to Mezer in Tarrey Town.
Make the Exchange: Talk to Mezer again and choose the option to trade the meat. He’ll take your offering and give you the higher-tier meat in return.
Repeat? Sometimes Mezer might offer the trade multiple times, or offer the next tier trade after you complete the first one. Talk to him again to see if more trades are available.
The Payoff:
- Upgraded Meat: You swap lower-quality meat for higher-quality meat, which is great for cooking more potent meals (especially health recovery or attack/defense up dishes).
- It’s a simple way to get better ingredients without necessarily hunting the rarest animals yourself.
Happy hunting, happy trading, happy cooking!
