Boné Pond East Cave is a cave in Lanayru Wetlands, about 163 map units from Boné Pond. It has 4 entrances. Caves like this one hide chests and a Bubbulfrog that drops a Bubbul Gem; trade the gems to Koltin in The Hunt for Bubbul Gems!

How to find it

The cave lies just east of Boné Pond and has four entrances, at map coordinates 2185, 142; 2253, 14; 2215, 100; and 2260, 108. Two lead to the upper section and two to the lower section; the roof entrance is the hole through the skull on top of the hill, which drops you straight down toward Maoikes Shrine. Look for the cave mouth at that spot; a Blupee or a ring of light often marks them.

Inside the cave

Enter and cross the first cavern

Go in through the skull-topped hill. The cave is dark and damp; light torches or throw Brightbloom Seeds to find the route.

Open the Zora Shield chest

A chest beside a small campfire near the entrance holds a Zora Shield. Brightbloom Seeds and ore deposits are scattered through the cave.

Hit the Bubbulfrog

A little further in, the Bubbulfrog hides against the rock wall (guides disagree slightly: some place it in the lower section, others high on the east side in the middle of the cave). Hit it with an arrow or a thrown item to collect the Bubbul Gem.

Clear the camp for the Royal Broadsword

Deeper in, a wooden walkway circles a Bokoblin camp. Defeat the camp, including the Blue Boss Bokoblin near the west entrance, and open the chest in its room for a Royal Broadsword (a Soldier’s Broadsword that scales up with your progress). A trapped Hylian named Hino stands nearby; talk to him once the Bokoblins are dead to receive food, including an Energizing Meat and Mushroom Skewer; other guides also list Salt-Grilled Meat, Sneaky Meat, Seafood Fry and a Fairy Tonic.

Maoikes Shrine lies at the bottom of the cave: drop through the hole under the skull and float down, and the shrine is straight ahead. It has no puzzle; open its chest and interact with the green gate at the end for a Light of Blessing.
