Shrine Quests

Shrine quests are small errands that make a hidden shrine appear. Most are crystal quests: examine the sealed shrine, follow the green beam to a crystal and carry it back to the shrine’s pedestal. Every entry below says who gives the quest, where it starts, what to do and what you get.

Surface shrine quests (21)

The Satori Mountain Crystal

Examine the empty pedestal under the stone arch at Usazum Shrine and follow the green beam up to Satori Mountain Foothill Cave. A Hinox guards the crystal: shoot its eye, knock it down and finish it, then carry the crystal over the lava on a fan platform and out of the cave. Set it on the pedestal to open the shrine.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Zonaite Spear (Strong or Mighty, depending on your progress) from Usazum Shrine; the cave chest also holds a Silver Rupee and there is a Bubbul Gem nearby.

The White Bird’s Guidance

Talk to Laissa, climb to Vah Medoh’s perch and wait until dawn (around 6:00; a campfire skips time). Look west along the perch’s shadow for a bird-shaped patch of snow, glide to it and enter West Lake Totori Cave to reach Wao-os Shrine.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Spicy Elixir from Wao-os Shrine; Laissa pays nothing extra.

The Gisa Crater Crystal

Examine the shrine arch, follow the beam to Gisa Crater Cave and take the crystal from the cave floor. Fix Rockets to the crystal, aim it at the hole in the ceiling, strike a Rocket to launch it out and carry it back to the arch.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Big Battery from Ikatak Shrine; the cave has three more chests (Hunter’s Shield, Falcon Bow, Feathered Spear).

The North Hebra Mountains Crystal

Follow the beam to a dormant Frost Talus, melt its ice with fire (fire arrows or Fire Fruit), climb on and break the ore deposit that holds the crystal. Carry the crystal with Ultrahand to the pad in front of the shrine.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Sapphire from Sisuran Shrine.

The Northwest Hebra Cave Crystal

Inside the cave, follow the beam across a pool to the crystal. Freeze a path over the water with Ice Fruit or an icicle fused to a weapon, lift the crystal with Ultrahand and set it on the pedestal at Rutafu-um Shrine.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Topaz from Rutafu-um Shrine.

A Pretty Stone and Five Golden Apples

Damia will swap his glowing crystal for five Golden Apples. Pick them in the trees on the north side of Mido Swamp (apples from anywhere work), trade them, then carry the crystal along the beam to the stone ring at Pupunke Shrine.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Mighty Zonaite Sword (Strong or Mighty, depending on your progress) from Pupunke Shrine. Needs Korok Forest cleared of gloom first.

None Shall Pass?

Follow the glowing Blue Nightshade trail through the Lost Woods to an empty shrine plinth, then follow the beam to a Stone Talus. Climb it, break the crystal off its head and carry the crystal back to the plinth.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Diamond from Sakunbomar Shrine. Needs Korok Forest cleared of gloom first.

Maca’s Special Place

The shrine is hidden in the Lost Woods fog and can only be reached from above. Launch from the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower (or from Simosiwak Shrine on the sky island above the woods), find the green glow below and glide straight down onto Ninjis Shrine with your paraglider.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Mighty Construct Bow (Strong or Mighty, depending on your progress) from Ninjis Shrine.

The Death Caldera Crystal

Follow the beam to the Death Mountain East Tunnel and defeat the Igneo Talus holding the crystal (cool it with ice arrows or Ice Fruit). Fix the crystal to a mine cart with a fan, ride out and place it at the shrine. Bring heat protection.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Big Battery from Momosik Shrine.

The Lake Intenoch Cave Crystal

Wear Flame Guard gear and cross the cave to the lava chamber where the crystal rests on an altar. Put it on a fan platform, cross the lava and carry it to the shrine ring.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Mighty Zonaite Shield (Strong or Mighty, depending on your progress) from Moshapin Shrine.

Rock for Sale

Haggle with Hagie until the crystal costs 50 rupees, buy it and ride his railcar to the Hudson Construction Site. Fast travel is disabled while you carry it, so build a small raft or fan boat with Ultrahand and cross the lake to the island with the shrine.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Diamond from Jochi-ihiga Shrine.

Dyeing to Find It

Turn the stone formation on the crank beside the Construct so its shadow falls on the white symbol on the ruined wall at sunrise (around 6:00). When the symbol is fully covered, the shrine rises.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Magic Scepter from Kurakat Shrine.

The High Spring and the Light Rings

Reach the sky island above the mountain from the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower, start the ring course there and dive through every ring while skimming down the snow on a shield, keeping up your speed.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Soldier’s Spear (II to IV, depending on your progress) from Zakusu Shrine.

The Lanayru Road Crystal

Follow the beam south to Lanayru Road South Cave, take the heavy crystal from beside the old Zonai machinery and build a wheeled cart with a fan to carry it back to the pedestal at O-ogim Shrine.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Big Battery from O-ogim Shrine; the cave also holds a Zora Shield and a Bubbul Gem.

The Ralis Channel Crystal

In the cave at the south end of the channel, build a raft from the planks, Fan and Steering Stick, load the crystal and sail north to the blue altar in front of Joniu Shrine.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Large Zonai Charge from Joniu Shrine.

Keys Born of Water

Freeze four or five blocks of ice from the river (Ice Fruit arrows or a Frost Emitter), fit the first into the large altar, then melt the next two by a fire until they fit the middle and small altars. The shrine appears above the ruins.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Big Battery from Jochisiu Shrine.

The Oakle’s Navel Cave Crystal

Pick up the green crystal in the cave and follow its beam through the passages, resting it on a cart built with Ultrahand and using Recall on falling boulders, until you reach the hidden shrine entrance.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Large Zonai Charge from Tokiy Shrine; an Eightfold Blade chest is also in the cave.

Ride the Giant Horse

Find the Giant White Stallion near Horse God Bridge east of Highland Stable, approach quietly from behind, mount it and calm it, register it at Highland Stable, then bring it to Baddek for the crystal. Carry the crystal to Ishokin Shrine.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Topaz from Ishokin Shrine, plus the Giant White Stallion as a mount.

The Lake Hylia Crystal

Examine the shrine mound at the bottom of the whirlpool, launch from the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower to the sky island above the lake, take the crystal and drop it through the hole in the island’s floor, then dive after it and place it on the mound.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Zonaite Sword (Strong or Mighty, depending on your progress) from En-oma Shrine.

Legend of the Soaring Spear

Read the notebook by the spring in the cave, fuse a Keese Wing to a Zonaite Spear, stand on the pedestal and throw it through the glowing ring on the far pillar, aiming a little high.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Large Zonai Charge from Utojis Shrine.

The Gerudo Canyon Crystal

Follow the beam south to the crystal at the foot of the canyon wall, mount it on a cart built from Zonai wheels and drive it north along the river bed to the pedestal at Rakakudaj Shrine.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Mighty Zonaite Longsword (Strong or Mighty, depending on your progress) from Rakakudaj Shrine.

Sky shrine quests (10)

The North Hyrule Sky Crystal

Follow the beam to the large island to the south and defeat the Flux Construct I that holds the crystal. Rig the crystal with Rockets so it crosses the gaps, and set it on the altar in front of the shrine.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Magic Rod from Mayam Shrine.

The South Hyrule Sky Crystal

Launch from the Hyrule Field Skyview Tower, turn the gyroscope platform with Ultrahand until its walkway points at the crystal’s island, fetch the crystal and place it on the shrine pedestal.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Diamond from Jinodok Shrine.

The Tabantha Sky Crystal

Take the crystal from the Flux Construct III on the lower island, load it on the flying platform with Fans and a power source and fly it to the shrine. Bring cold protection.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Diamond from Ganos Shrine.

The East Hebra Sky Crystal

Launch from the Pikida Stonegrove Skyview Tower, cross the ruin islands, burn the vines off the crystal in the cave with a Fire Fruit and fly it to the shrine ring on a Zonai craft.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Topaz from Taninoud Shrine.

The Sky Mine Crystal

Launch from the Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower, examine the gate on the Sky Mine island, follow the beam to the crystal on a neighbouring island and carry it back to the altar by the gate.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Ruby from Gikaku Shrine.

The Sokkala Sky Crystal

Step on the stone arch, turn the launcher to fire yourself into the floating sphere, rotate the ball with Ultrahand to face the shrine island and use a spring to send the crystal out. Carry it to the altar.

Reward: Light of Blessing and an Enduring Elixir from Natak Shrine.

The South Lanayru Sky Crystal

Reach the shrine island from the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower, cross to the vine-covered island on a Zonai flyer, burn through the vines, take the crystal and fly it back to the blue altar.

Reward: Light of Blessing from Mayanas Shrine after you solve its puzzle.

The North Necluda Sky Crystal

Launch from the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower, turn the rotating stone arm on the crystal island so the path lines up, then fly the crystal across with Fans and set it on the shrine pedestal.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Large Zonai Charge from Josiu Shrine.

The West Necluda Sky Crystal

Launch from the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower, cut or burn the vines in front of the crystal, build a flyer from fans, a Steering Stick and a battery and fly the crystal to the shrine island.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Zonaite Shield (Strong or Mighty, depending on your progress) from Ukoojisi Shrine.

The Necluda Sky Crystal

Launch from the Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower, take the crystal from the Flux Construct III on the neighbouring island and carry it over the gap with a Zonai flyer or a spring to the shrine.

Reward: Light of Blessing and a Zonaite Bow (Strong or Mighty, depending on your progress) from Kumamayn Shrine.
