How to find it

The entrance is at map coordinates 1423, 2102, near Southern Mine. Look for the cave mouth at that spot; a Blupee or a ring of light often marks them. Wear Flame Guard armor or drink a Fireproof Elixir before you go in.

Inside the cave

Cross the lava ledges to the Ruby chest

Inside the entrance, lava pools fill the floor. Hop between the dark rock ledges to reach a chest on the far side, which holds a Ruby.

Open the Rusty Shield chest

Follow the wall past the first lava pool to a chest beside another stream of lava. It holds a Rusty Shield.

Build a path of stone slabs

Larger lava pools block the way deeper in. Pick up a Zonai hydrant with Ultrahand, set it down on the lava and walk across the stone slabs the water creates. Fire resistance runs out quickly here, so eat or drink again if the timer is low.

Take the Fire-Breath Lizal Blade

On a stone platform at the end of the slabs a chest holds the Fire-Breath Lizal Blade.

Find the Ember Shirt

Continue into the ruined hall. A chest under a lit gazebo holds the Ember Shirt, a heat-resistant tunic. A carved tablet nearby is Misko’s note that starts the side quest Misko’s Treasure of Awakening I.

Shoot the Bubbulfrog

Climb out of the hall into the upper rooms and look up. The Bubbulfrog flutters near the ceiling; shoot it with an arrow and pick up the Bubbul Gem it drops.

Enemies, hazards and extras

OutsideA group of Bokoblins and a Moblin guards the approach; a Blupee marks the entrance. A Blue (some guides say Silver) Horriblin lurks on the ceiling near the entrance
HeatAt least one level of Flame Guard. Bombs explode the moment you pull them out in the heat, so do not rely on them. Bring Ice Fruit and Splash Fruit for crossing and for the Fire Like
Lava riverRocks rise from the lava; ride them, or make a platform with Ice Fruit or Splash Fruit, to cross north. Use the bridge on the north-east shore to reach the west side
Fire LikePast a curtain of lava. Lock it down with Splash Fruit and Ice Fruit before attacking. It drops a Fire-Like Stone and Fire Fruit, and a reward chest appears
BubbulfrogIn a hole in the eastern wall of the side chamber, reached after crossing the lava bridge to the western side. One guide places the way up on the right just before the Fire Like
ChestsRuby (across the lava); Fire-Breath Lizal Blade (on a broken archway over the lava: glide from the walls or use Ascend); Ember Shirt (in Misko’s chamber, behind the wall opening on the eastern slope); and the reward chest from the Fire Like
Rusty ShieldSome guides place a Rusty Shield with the Blue Moblin camp on a high ledge along the river outside the cave rather than inside
Korok seedOutside: at the south end of a giant rib cage partly sunk in lava near the midpoint of the Goronbi River
Misko’s Treasure of Awakening IOpening the Ember Shirt chest opens a doorway; read the stone tablet to start the quest. Its riddle points to the Ancient Columns in the Tabantha Frontier, guarded by a Flame Gleeok
