A Picture for the Closed Stable I

Quest typeSide quest
GiverPiaffe
Starts inGerudo Canyon Stable
RequirementsCamera on the Purah Pad; a way up to the East Gerudo sky islands; finish the side quest Piaffe, Packed Away first (it leaves two empty picture frames on the stable wall)
Reward1 Pony Point and Chilly Mushroom Risotto

Piaffe wants a picture of Spectacle Rock when it looks like it is smiling. Go up to the sky island that holds Rakashog Shrine, look straight down at the rock, take a photo and show it to Piaffe in Gerudo Canyon Stable for a Pony Point and a Chilly Mushroom Risotto.

Walkthrough

Speak with Piaffe

Once Piaffe, Packed Away is finished, two empty picture frames hang on the wall inside Gerudo Canyon Stable. Examine a frame (guides disagree on whether it is the left or right one; the two Picture quests can be done in either order) to start this quest. Piaffe explains that Spectacle Rock only appears to grin when seen from above, so the picture has to come from the sky.

Take the picture from the sky island

Travel to the East Gerudo sky islands, best done by warping to Rakashog Shrine, and walk to the edge of the same island. From the island’s southwestern edge, look down at the floating rocks off the southwest side, which line up into a smiling face with Spectacle Rock as the eyes. Line up the crescent smile of Spectacle Rock in the camera view and take the picture while the Spectacle Rock tag shows on screen. Then save it to your Album.

Show Piaffe the photo

Go back to the stable and examine the empty frame again; the photo must show the red exclamation-mark symbol in your Album. He hangs the smiling rock in his stable and pays you with a Pony Point and Chilly Mushroom Risotto. Leave room in your pouch first.

Rewards

  • 1 Pony Point
  • Chilly Mushroom Risotto
  • If this is the second of the two frames you fill, some guides also report a Diamond and five Enduring Carrot Cakes for completing the set.

Tips

  • If you take a better picture later, show it to Piaffe and he will put it up in place of the first one.
  • The rock only forms its smile when seen from high above, so a photo from the ground never works.
