How to find the entrance

The stump is visible from far across the field, north of Mount Daphnes on the west side of Hyrule Field. Walk up the ramp of lashed logs on its side to the rim. The top is hollow, with a wide dark hole in the middle. Stand at the edge and jump in with your paraglider open.

Route through the cave

Land on one of the giant roots inside and work your way down by climbing and gliding from root to root. The lower cavern is very dark, so pick up Brightbloom Seeds and Brightcaps on the way, plus a Bomb Flower to fuse to arrows. The bottom is flooded with shallow, misty water.

A Like Like hangs from a root over the first chest. Keep out of reach of its mouth and shoot its glowing red eyes, ideally with Bomb Flower arrows, until it bursts. Open the chest it was guarding for a Wooden Shield.

Bubbulfrog and Bubbul Gem

Keep going along the water. The Bubbulfrog hides among the roots at the edge of this area and hops about when you approach. Shoot it with an arrow and chase it across the water; when it bursts it leaves a Bubbul Gem for Koltin in The Hunt for Bubbul Gems!

Second chest and Fierce Deity Boots

A second Like Like hangs further along the water. Treat it the same way, then open the chest beneath it for a Traveler’s Shield (or Soldier’s Shield, Knight’s Shield or Royal Shield, depending on your progress). Drop a damaged shield first if your shield slots are full.

The last chest is in the south of the cave. Cut or burn the wall of woven roots that blocks the way and climb the roots beyond it to an alcove hung with red and gold banners. Open the chest in it for the Fierce Deity Boots, a boots piece of the Fierce Deity set from Misko’s Treasure: The Fierce Deity.

Exits

You do not have to climb back up the stump. Stand beside the banner alcove where the rock ceiling is low, use Ascend, and you rise out of the cave onto the grassy hillside outside.

Nearby

A Bokoblin camp on wooden platforms stands in the fields near the stump, with a Spiked Boko Bow (or Boko Bow or Dragonbone Boko Bow, depending on your progress) chest on its top deck.

Tips

  • Bring plenty of arrows and a few Bomb Flowers; Bomb Flower arrows finish a Like Like quickly.
  • Both Like Likes also drop a Like Like Stone.
