Quest: Mattison’s Independence
Location: Tarrey Town (Akkala Region)
Quest Giver: Hudson (often near construction site/home) or Rhondson (often near home/shop).

Helping Mattison Spread Her Wings!

This quest involves Hudson and Rhondson’s Gerudo daughter, Mattison. She’s preparing for her traditional journey to Gerudo Town. You’ll need to help her (and her parents) with a few tasks around Tarrey Town before she departs.

Your Mission: Prep for Departure!

1. Start the Quest: Find either Hudson (look near the Hudson Construction site south of town, or near their house) or Rhondson (usually inside or near their house/shop, the Rhondson Armor Boutique). Talk to them (A button). They’ll explain Mattison is leaving for Gerudo Town soon and ask for your help.
2. Task 1: Gerudo Lesson for Hagie
   • Find Mattison. She’s often near the central plaza initially, trying to talk to Hagie, the elderly Goron worker.
   • Talk to Mattison. She’s trying to teach Hagie the Gerudo word for “Grandma” (Vaba) but he can’t quite get it.
   • Talk to Hagie. You’ll get dialogue options to help him pronounce it. Choose the options that emphasize the syllables correctly, like “Vah…” then “Bah!”.
   • Once Hagie says “VABA!” correctly, talk to Mattison again to confirm this part is done.
3. Task 2: Distract the Railcar Operator
   • Find Mattison again (she might move near the railcar). She wants a free ride on the town’s railcar without the operator, Fyson, seeing her.
   • Go down to the railcar platform (south edge of town, near the Hudson Construction site). Talk to Fyson (the operator) briefly if needed.
   • Look nearby for a large, square wooden plank (part of the construction materials).
   • Use Ultrahand (L) to pick up the plank.
   • Position yourself between Fyson and the railcar platform. Hold the plank up vertically like a screen, completely blocking Fyson’s view of the platform.
   • Wait for Mattison to sneak onto the railcar (she might give a wave or cue). Keep the plank up until the railcar departs.
   • Talk to Mattison again later (she’ll probably be back near her parents) to confirm success.
4. Task 3: Sundelions for Hudson
   • Find Hudson. He’ll ask you to gather 10 Sundelions for Mattison’s journey (as a gift or travel money).
   • Sundelion Locations: These bright yellow flowers grow mainly on the Sky Islands. Look on the sunny, grassy parts of islands reached via Skyview Towers or Zonai devices. They can also sometimes be found in Gloom-affected caves or Depths areas, but Sky Islands are the most reliable source.
   • Gather exactly 10 Sundelions.
   • Return to Hudson and give him the flowers. He’ll reward you immediately with 200 Rupees for this task.
5. The Farewell: After completing all three tasks and reporting back as needed, the final step is usually triggered by talking to Hudson or Rhondson again. This often leads to a cutscene near the town entrance or railcar station where the family says goodbye to Mattison as she leaves for Gerudo Town.

The Payoff:

• 200 Rupees from Hudson for the Sundelions.
• Silver Rupees (100 each) usually given by Hudson/Rhondson at the very end as thanks for helping Mattison.
• A touching storyline completion seeing Mattison off on her adventure.
