Laissa saw a white bird next to a cave at dawn. Look west from Vah Medoh’s perch at sunrise to spot a patch of snow shaped like a bird, then glide down and enter West Lake Totori Cave to reach Wao-os Shrine.

Walkthrough

Ask Laissa about the cave

Talk to Laissa near the top of Rito Village. She remembers a cave with a rock wreathed in green light, like the one under the general store, and says she saw a white bird sitting on the shadow of Vah Medoh’s perch at dawn. Use Ascend (or climb) to reach the stone perch at the top of the village so you are level with it, and wait until early morning (around 6:00; light a campfire to skip time).

Glide to the bird-shaped patch of snow

At sunrise look west to northwest along the perch’s shadow: a patch of snow in the shape of a bird lies at its tip. Pin it with your Purah Pad, then jump from the perch and glide to it. Tulin’s wind gusts help if your stamina runs short.

Enter West Lake Totori Cave

The cave entrance is at the bird’s beak. Follow the short cave to the shrine at its end. Touching the shrine’s pedestal is enough to finish the quest. Wao-os Shrine itself is a Lever Power puzzle: fling the ball with the lever at its targets and launch yourself through the opened gate to claim the Light of Blessing. The chest in the room holds a Spicy Elixir. The So-oaw Lightroot lies directly below in the Depths.

Rewards

Access to Wao-os Shrine, its Light of Blessing and the Spicy Elixir in its chest. Laissa gives no separate reward, and the quest is optional.

Tips

  • Lift the rock on the perch before you leave; a Korok sits under it.
  • If you arrive in the evening, wait for morning with a campfire; the shadow only lines up at dawn.
