Soh Kofi Shrine (A Minor Test of Strength)

Soh Kofi is a combat shrine with no puzzle. A Guardian Scout armed with a sword and shield attacks in three phases; use the pillars against its spin, the updraft against its laser, and stay mobile at the end. A chest with a Knight’s Bow and the Spirit Orb follow.

How to find it

The shrine stands just north of Lanayru Tower, above the blue bridge in the valley where you meet Prince Sidon. A Zora stands outside and points toward the entrance, so you can simply follow the road up from the bridge.

Solution

Fight the opening phase

Enter the arena and the Guardian Scout rises in the centre. It shields against frontal hits and winds up slow slashes, so wait for a swing, dodge, and counter. When it jumps backwards and starts spinning up, stand behind a pillar so it crashes into stone and is stunned.

Use the updraft

At about half health it stops closing in, anchors itself and sweeps a laser around the floor. The beam creates a strong updraft: step into it, open the paraglider and rise, then switch to a bow and shoot its eye in slow motion to stun it before landing.

Finish it quickly

When it glows blue it gathers energy and then fires several short, strong blasts. Keep running sideways or close the distance and finish it before it builds up. Pillars do not help here.

Take the reward

The far door opens. Open the chest on the way for the Knight’s Bow, then talk to Monk Soh Kofi for the Spirit Orb.

Chests and rewards

  • Knight’s Bow: in the chest in the monk’s chamber.
  • Spirit Orb: from Monk Soh Kofi.
