Oman Au Shrine (Magnesis Trial)

Oman Au is the first shrine most players enter, and it hands you Magnesis, the rune that moves metal. Lift the plates off the floor, pull the one metal block out of the stone wall, deal with the Guardian Scout beyond it, use a metal slab as a bridge, and pull the metal chest across the water to claim a Traveler’s Bow before you open the doors.

How to find it

Stand at the Resurrection Tower and go north. The shrine sits by a cluster of small ponds on the north-eastern side of the plateau, so it is easy to spot from the tower. It is one of the four shrines you must clear to earn the Paraglider and leave the plateau.

Solution

Take the Magnesis rune

Inside the entrance, a locked gate faces you with metal plates set into the floor. Put the Sheikah Slate on the pedestal to the left of the gate to unlock Magnesis, then equip it from the rune menu.

Lift the floor plates

Aim Magnesis at the metal plates in the middle of the room and raise one out of its slot. This uncovers a passage under the gate. Follow it beside the water and climb the stairs into the next chamber.

Pull the metal block from the wall

A wall of stone blocks closes the room. Scan it with Magnesis and you will find that one block is metal. Drag it out and the wall opens up, leaving a path through.

Handle the Guardian Scout

A small Guardian Scout waits on the far side and fires a timed beam. Duck behind the metal block for cover, then either strike it up close or use Magnesis to swing the block into it or knock it into the water.

Bridge the gap

The next platform has no walkway. Use Magnesis to drag the metal slab from behind you into place as a bridge. If you fall into the water, the walls are too smooth to climb, so lift the slab into place to make a way back up.

Fetch the chest and open the doors

Look to the left to spot a chest on a high platform you cannot reach. It is made of metal, so lock onto it with Magnesis and pull it down to you. Then take hold of the large metal doors and pull them toward you. Talk to the monk Oman Au to finish.

Chests and rewards

  • Traveler’s Bow: in the metal chest on the high platform, which you bring down with Magnesis.
  • Spirit Orb: from the monk at the end. The shrine also gives you the Magnesis rune.
