Termina has 17 mini-games with a prize worth winning, and 13 of them pay a Piece of Heart. Most Clock Town games cost 10 to 30 Rupees and run from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The three-day games (Honey and Darling, the Deku Playground) want you to win on each day of one cycle, and the others are tied to a region, a mask or a boss you have beaten. Entry fees come out of your wallet, so carry a few hundred Rupees, and bank any prize Rupees before you play the Song of Time (see the Three-Day Cycle). The table lists every game; the entries below give the rules, the score to beat and the prize for each tier.

Clock Town

Honey and Darling's Shop

Honey and Darling’s Shop

Honey and Darling’s shop in East Clock Town runs a different challenge each day for 10 Rupees a try, and each one wants a perfect score. On Day 1 you blow up every target with Bombchu. On Day 2 you drop a bomb into every basket on the stage. On the Final Day you shoot every wall target with the Hero’s Bow. A perfect game on Day 1 or 2 pays a Purple Rupee (50 Rupees), and winning all three days in one cycle earns a Piece of Heart on the third day. The shop opens at 6:00 AM and closes at 10:00 PM, and it closes earlier on the Final Day, so do not leave the last game for the evening. Buy Bombchu and bombs at the Bomb Shop before Days 1 and 2.

Deku Playground

Deku Playground

The Deku Playground is in North Clock Town and costs 10 Rupees a round. Wear the Deku Mask, speak to the Business Scrub and he lets you through to a Deku Flower. Burrow into it and fly across the platforms in less time than the day’s record, which the Scrub reads out first. You can try again as often as you can pay. The layout is different each day. Beating the record on Day 1 or Day 2 pays a Purple Rupee (50 Rupees), and the record on Day 3 pays the Piece of Heart. Because the record is different every day, you need to win on all three days of the same cycle. The playground is open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Treasure Chest Shop

Treasure Chest Shop

In East Clock Town, the host lets you cross a maze of tall walls to a treasure chest before the timer runs out. The fee and the prize both depend on your form:

FormFeePrize
Hylian20 RupeesRupees
Deku10 RupeesDeku Nuts
Goron30 RupeesPiece of Heart the first time, then a rupee prize
Zora5 RupeesRupees

The timer is short, so take the shortest path. Learn the maze with a cheap Zora or Deku run, then pay the 30 Rupees as Goron Link for the Piece of Heart. Open the chest before the clock hits zero. The shop is open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM and closes earlier on the Final Day.

Swordsman's School

Swordsman’s School

The Swordsman’s School is in West Clock Town. Talk to the swordsman first and he runs you through his lessons on side jumps, rolls and the backflip; you may need to take his lessons once before the expert course is offered. Pay 10 Rupees for the expert course and cut ten logs in a row. A jump attack that slices a log lengthwise scores 3 points and any other hit scores 1, so ten perfect jump attacks give the top score of 30 and a Piece of Heart. Practise the jump attack in the lessons first. The school stays open day and night, but it closes late on the Final Day, so take the course early.

Postman's Counting Game

Postman’s Counting Game

On Day 1 or 2, from 3:00 PM until midnight, the Postman practises in the bedroom of the West Clock Town Post Office. Press A to start and press it again when you think 10 seconds have passed. Stop on exactly 10.00 and he says you have reflexes suitable for a postman and gives you a Piece of Heart. The timer disappears, so count in your head or wear the Bunny Hood, which keeps it on screen. Each try costs 2 Rupees, and leaving and re-entering resets the fee.

Bombers' Hide-and-Seek

Bombers’ Hide-and-Seek

The Bombers’ gang plays hide-and-seek in the town. On the First Day, pop the balloon in North Clock Town with a Deku bubble and the five Bomber kids who set it up scatter around Clock Town. Tag all five before the time limit; each catch makes the rest count down, and when you catch the last one the gang gives you the code to their hideout in East Clock Town. It costs nothing to play. Use the code, in Hylian form, to get the Bombers’ Notebook, which tracks the people covered on the Bombers’ Notebook page. If you forget the code, play again to hear it.

Termina Field

Keaton Quiz

Keaton Quiz

Once you own the Keaton Mask, which the Curiosity Shop man gives you free at 1:00 PM on the Final Day, a moving patch of grass in North Clock Town, on Milk Road or (in spring) in Mountain Village starts a quiz when you disturb it. Put the mask on, cut the rustling bushes and Keaton pops out. He asks five questions about the people and places of Termina, and one wrong answer ends the quiz. Answer all five correctly and you win a Piece of Heart the first time. The answers are in the Keaton Quiz guide.

Southern Swamp

Koume's Boat Cruise

Koume’s Boat Cruise

After you clear Woodfall Temple and the poison is gone, the guide at the Swamp Tourist Center offers a boat tour with a shooting game. The first ride is free (later rides cost up to 10 Rupees). Koume flies past on her broom and you shoot the targets along the route with the bow. Hit at least 20 targets for the Piece of Heart, which is what the N64 game awards on the first completion. Avoid shooting Koume herself, because too many hits on her end the game. The Pictograph Box you receive on an earlier boat ride stays in your inventory.

Pictograph Contest

Pictograph Contest

Before you clear Woodfall Temple, the Swamp Tourist Center takes pictures from the Pictograph Box. Koume gives you the box on the free boat cruise she offers once you have healed her; you can retake a picture as often as you like. Photograph Tingle in the swamp or the Deku King in the Deku Palace, keep the picture and hand it in to the guide for a Piece of Heart. Frame the subject clearly in the middle of the shot, and take the picture inside the swamp. The contest ends once the temple is cleared.

Snowhead

Goron Race

Goron Race

The race runs once you have cleared Snowhead Temple and spring has returned. You also need the Powder Keg certification, earned by blowing up the boulder at the racetrack with a Powder Keg. Enter as Goron Link: speak to the Goron elder at the start line to enter, and race the Gorons. Finish first and the Elder’s Son hands over a Bottle of Gold Dust as a prize from his father. You can retry. Roll through the green Magic Jars along the course to keep your magic up. See Goron Races for the full route.

Romani Ranch

Romani's Ghost Balloons

Romani’s Ghost Balloons

On Day 1, from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Romani sets ten ghost balloons around the ranch. Pop them all from horseback with the Hero’s Bow in under two minutes to learn Epona’s Song. You need a Powder Keg to open the road on Day 1 or 2; the Romani Ranch events section explains the next steps.

Doggy Racetrack

Doggy Racetrack

At the Doggy Racetrack in Romani Ranch you bet Rupees on one of the dogs. Wear the Mask of Truth and pick up a dog to read its thoughts: the one that feels confident is your winner. Their moods change on every race, so start with small bets and let the winnings build. Win 150 Rupees or more in a single race and the owner gives you a Piece of Heart.

Gorman Track Race

Gorman Track Race

In the daytime, ride Epona onto Gorman Track on Milk Road and pay 10 Rupees to race the Gorman Brothers. Spend Epona’s carrots on the straights, and the first one across the line wins. Beat them and they hand you Garo’s Mask. The mask lets you pass the Garo lookouts on the way to Ikana.

Great Bay

Beaver Race

Beaver Race

At Waterfall Rapids on Zora Cape, wear the Zora Mask and swim after the little beaver brother through 20 underwater rings in under two minutes. Win and his big brother challenges you on a 25-ring course with the same two-minute limit. Beat both and you receive an Empty Bottle. Race both brothers again with a tighter time limit and the prize is a Piece of Heart.

Fisherman's Jumping Game

Fisherman’s Jumping Game

On the Great Bay Coast, the Fisherman runs a jumping game for 20 Rupees. It is open in daytime once you have cleared Great Bay Temple. Jump from island to island around the central one and score 20 points before time runs out; falling in the water ends the game. The prize is a Piece of Heart.
