Sword Upgrades
Wooden Sword in the start cave, White Sword for 5 hearts and Magical Sword for 12 hearts, with damage and where to find each one.
Blue Ring and Red Ring
The Blue Ring halves damage and costs 250 rupees in a hidden shop; the Red Ring cuts damage to a quarter, from Level 9.
Bomb Upgrades
Capacity goes 8, 12, then 16 with two 100-rupee old men in Level 5 and Level 7, plus the Second Quest upgrade spots.
Potion Acquisition
Show the Letter to a medicine woman, then buy a Red Potion for 68 or a Blue Potion for 40. All six First Quest medicine women are listed.
