Twilight Princess HD is one connected world. Hyrule Field sits in the middle and every province opens off it. You unlock a warp portal every time you finish a Shadow Beast fight in the Twilight, and Midna can then carry you straight to any portal from the map screen. This page lists every region, every portal, every dungeon entrance and how to reach the places that are not on the road.

Hyrule Field is divided into four named sectors (north, south, east and west), each with its own grottos. The roads from the field lead to every province: Faron Woods and the Sacred Grove, Kakariko Gorge and the Bridge of Eldin, Castle Town and Hyrule Castle, the Great Bridge of Hylia to Lake Hylia and Zora’s River, and the route into the Gerudo Desert. The Hidden Village lies north of the Bridge of Eldin.

These are the 15 portals the game offers. In a Twilight province the pattern is simple: a wall of Twilight rises, Shadow Beasts fall from a portal and the spot becomes a warp point once they are dead. Ordon Spring only has a single Shadow Beast and the Bridge of Eldin portal can be opened as human Link, but every other portal follows the same pattern.

To warp, open the map, pick a portal you have already opened and confirm. You cannot warp while inside a dungeon, where Ooccoo does the same job. Midna can also carry large objects: she warps the bridge piece from South Faron Woods to the broken span at Kakariko Gorge, and later a large volcanic rock from Death Mountain to Zora’s Domain.

Other ways to cross Hyrule
Epona and the Horse Call
Epona comes back to Ordon after Eldin is cleansed. Once Ilia gives you the Horse Call in the Hidden Village chapter you can summon her in any open field. She is the quickest way to cross Hyrule Field between portals.

Fyer’s cannon at Lake Hylia
Fyer fires you from a cannon in the middle of Lake Hylia for 10 Rupees. The standard flight lands at the Flight-By-Fowl platform. If you show him Auru’s Memo, he also offers the Oasis Flight, which launches you from Lake Hylia into the Gerudo Desert. After you complete the Sky Book, the repaired Sky Cannon takes you to the City in the Sky for 300 Rupees.

Ooccoo
Ooccoo is found inside dungeons. Use her from the item slot and she creates a warp point, so you can leave the dungeon and return to the same room. She is removed from your inventory when the dungeon is finished.

Great Fairies in the Cave of Ordeals
Every tenth floor of the Cave of Ordeals holds a Great Fairy spring. She restores your hearts, and a warp beside her lets you leave the cave and come back later to carry on from that floor.

Dungeon entrances
| Dungeon | Entrance | Warp to use | Key item you need |
|---|---|---|---|
| Forest Temple | North Faron Woods, past the swamp, up the steps with the monkey | North Faron Woods | Coro’s temple gate key |

| Lakebed Temple | Lake Hylia, at the bottom of the lake | Lake Hylia | Zora Armor, Iron Boots, Water Bombs |
| Arbiter’s Grounds | Gerudo Desert, beyond the Bulblin camp | Gerudo Mesa | Auru’s Memo for Fyer’s Oasis Flight |
| Snowpeak Ruins | Top of Snowpeak Mountain | Snowpeak | None |
| Temple of Time | Sacred Grove, behind the Master Sword pedestal | Sacred Grove | Master Sword |
| City in the Sky | By Sky Cannon from Lake Hylia | Lake Hylia | Dominion Rod, Ancient Sky Book, 300 Rupees |

| Hyrule Castle | North of Castle Town | Castle Town | Palace of Twilight completed |
| Cave of Ordeals | Gerudo Mesa | Gerudo Mesa | Spinner, Ball and Chain, Dominion Rod, Double Clawshots |
| Cave of Shadows (HD) | No map location: enter from the Collection screen | None | Opens in three stages |
The Cave of Shadows is not on the map. The Collection screen takes you there after you restore Faron; the second part opens after Ganondorf’s execution scene, and the third after the Sol-infused Master Sword in the Palace of Twilight. Completing it gives the Colossal Wallet (9,999) if you already own the Giant Wallet.
Twilight areas
| Area | Spirit | Order |
|---|---|---|
| Faron Woods | Faron | First, around the Forest Temple |
| Eldin (Kakariko, Death Mountain) | Eldin | Second |
| Lanayru (Castle Town, Zora’s River, Lake Hylia) | Lanayru | Third |
| Palace of Twilight | None | Final, after the City in the Sky |
You enter each Twilight province as a wolf and stay one until its Vessel of Light holds 12 tears. See Tears of Light for every insect.
