Dungeon Map, Compass, and First Eight Stray Fairies
Keep the Great Fairy’s Mask equipped when you are looking for Stray Fairies. If a fairy is inside a bubble or a beehive, pop it first, then let the mask draw it toward you.
Collect the first two fairies in the entrance room: the first floats in the open, and the second is in the chest on the platform to the right. Fly across the room and take the left passage. Defeat the Deku Baba for the third fairy, then water-hop to the ledge with pots and break them to find the fourth.
In the next room, use the launcher flower to reach the chest with a Small Key. Shoot down the beehive for the fifth fairy. Enter the Snapper room and use the Deku flowers to launch into the enemies as they pass overhead. Defeating them opens the way to the Dungeon Map.
Return to the central room and use the Small Key on the locked door. Push the block ahead, then follow the right-hand path and defeat the Skulltula for the sixth fairy. Light the torches along the other route to open the next door. Defeat the Dragonflies in the following room to get the Compass from the chest.
Before climbing the stairs, shoot down the beehives overhead until one releases the seventh fairy. Carry a lit Deku Stick upstairs, burn through the webbing, and defeat the Black Boes in the dark room. A chest appears with the eighth fairy. At this point, you should have 8 of the temple’s 15 Stray Fairies, along with the map and compass.
Hero’s Bow, Boss Key, Final Fairies, and Odolwa
Get the Hero’s Bow and Boss Key
Light the torches to open the door into the large flower room, then use the launcher flowers to reach its upper level. Open the eastern door and press the switch to reveal a shortcut. Go through the next door and defeat the Dinolfos to claim the Hero’s Bow.
Return to the flower room and shoot the eye switch to raise the central flower. Use it to reach the next passage and fight Gekko. When Gekko calls a Snapper, switch to Deku Link and launch from a flower to knock it off. Change back to normal Link and shoot Gekko with an arrow while it is exposed. Repeat until it falls, then open the chest for the Boss Key.
Collect Stray Fairies nine through eleven
Return to the upper level of the large flower room. Shoot the bubble near the north door for the ninth fairy. Use a launcher flower to reach the nearby switch ledge; press the switch as normal Link and open the chest that appears for the tenth. Backtrack to the block room and look beneath the block. From the nearby doorway, shoot an arrow under the wooden bridge to pop the bubble, then use the Great Fairy’s Mask to collect the eleventh fairy.
Find the last four fairies
Use an arrow to light the torches around the central flower mechanism and open the north door. In the final room, fly to the first ledge on the right and pop the bubble for fairy twelve. Follow the launcher flowers to the next ledge for fairy thirteen, then climb the ledges to the left for fairy fourteen. On the far-left platform, aim toward the large torch and pop the last bubble to collect fairy fifteen.
Shoot the crystal switch to put out the flames. Use the newly revealed flower to fly to the boss door. Before leaving the temple, return all 15 Stray Fairies to the Great Fairy Fountain in Woodfall. The Great Fairy rewards you with a stronger, magic-powered spin attack in the N64 version.
Defeat Odolwa
Keep moving to avoid Odolwa’s sword and the hazards he summons. Fire arrows at him to interrupt his attacks, then close in and strike with your sword while he is stunned. When he summons bugs or swarms, keep your distance and watch for openings rather than chasing him through the hazards.
After the fight, collect the Heart Container and Odolwa’s Remains. In the vision that follows, the giant teaches Link the Oath to Order. The swamp’s poison clears once Woodfall Temple is complete.
Woodfall completion checkpoint: You should have 10 of 52 Pieces of Heart, 6 of 24 masks, 1 of 6 bottles, all 15 Woodfall Stray Fairies, the Hero’s Bow, Odolwa’s Remains, and the Oath to Order. You also receive a Heart Container for defeating Odolwa.
