You name Bipin and Blossom’s child when you first meet the family in Horon Village, choosing up to five characters. After Dungeon 2, Blossom asks you to pay for the doctor with 1, 10, 50 or 150 Rupees. At a later visit she asks whether you want to play with her son or sing him to sleep. Playing makes him Hyperactive. Singing makes him Curious if you paid 1 or 10 Rupees for the doctor, and Shy if you paid 50. His adult job, Arborist, Warrior, Singer or Slacker, depends on the payments and answers you give across the visits.

The family in Horon Village

Bipin, Blossom and their son

Bipin and Blossom live in Horon Village, the same village where you meet Mayor Ruul and collect your first Ring Box (see the getting started chapter). Their young son is already part of the household when you meet them. Talk to Blossom to begin the child’s story.

Naming the child

The first meeting

Blossom asks you to choose a name for the baby. The name can be up to five characters long. Sources do not agree on whether the name changes how the child grows up, so this guide does not claim that it does. Choose whatever name you like.

Visits and choices

The doctor visit after Dungeon 2

Once you have cleared Dungeon 2, Blossom asks you to help pay for a doctor’s visit for her son. You can give 1, 10, 50 or 150 Rupees. The amount you give matters later: it decides his personality if you sing to him, and it feeds into his adult job. For the dungeon itself, see the Snake’s Remains chapter.

The bedtime question

On a later visit, Blossom asks how to put her son to sleep. You can play with him or sing to him. Playing leads to a Hyperactive child. Singing leads to a Curious or Shy child, depending on the doctor payment you made. Blossom then asks you about your own childhood before the visit ends.

Outcomes

Personality

If you play with him, he grows into a Hyperactive child. If you sing to him, a doctor payment of 1 or 10 Rupees makes him Curious, and a payment of 50 Rupees makes him Shy. A payment of 150 Rupees is not covered here, because the outcome for that choice varies between accounts of the game.

Adult job

When he grows up, he takes one of four jobs: Arborist, Warrior, Singer or Slacker. Which one he takes depends on the payments and answers you gave across the visits. The doctor payment and the bedtime answer are the two choices that shape the outcome most.
