A Linked Game connects Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons through a series of secrets. Characters in one game tell you a secret, you carry it to a character in the other game, and that character gives you a reward and a second password. You then enter that password with Farore in your Hall of Secrets to get the same reward in the game you started in. The secret’s reward is different for every save file, so write each password down as it appears in your own game. Only the reward and the route are listed here.
How linking works
Hall of Secrets and Farore
Enter the Maku Tree grounds in Lynna City and go into Farore’s Hall of Secrets. Farore keeps a book, called her Memory, that lists each secret you have been told. Talk to her, answer Yes when she asks whether you know the secret to moving through time, and then type the return password. A reward chest or upgrade follows if the password is correct. Farore only accepts the password for the game in which you received it, so enter each one in the right game. See Farore’s Secrets and Cheval’s Grave for the first entries.
Secret to Holodrum
After you defeat Veran, the game gives you the Secret to Holodrum, a password you enter when you start a new Oracle of Seasons game. That new game is the Linked Game. It begins with an extra heart and a Level 1 sword, and it unlocks the ten secrets in each direction. The password appears in the credits of a single game, so a Linked Game starts from it after you clear Oracle of Ages. See Black Tower and Veran.
Ring Secret
The Red Snake in Vasu Jewelers in Lynna City gives you a Ring Secret. He gives you a password that you can tell to the Red Snake in any other Oracle of Ages or Oracle of Seasons game, linked or not, to move your rings across. Secrets you hear in Labrynna and tell in Holodrum
These ten secrets begin with a character in Labrynna. You tell them to a character in Holodrum in Oracle of Seasons. The reward is given in Holodrum, and the password it returns is entered with Farore to repeat the reward in Oracle of Ages.

Linked-only events
Hero’s Cave
Hero’s Cave appears only in a Linked Game, in the present, just south-west of the Maku Tree near the Maku Road in Lynna City. It holds the Armor Ring L-3, which you cannot get in a single game of Oracle of Ages. The full route is on the Hero’s Cave page.
Room of Rites
After Veran is defeated, the Linked Game continues to the Room of Rites in the present. There you face Twinrova and then Ganon. The fight ends with a Victory Ring and a Hero’s Secret, a password that starts a later game of the original story. Write it down exactly as it appears. See Room of Rites, Twinrova and Ganon.
Upgrades at a glance
Taken together, the secrets upgrade every basic item that has levels. Your sword can reach the Master Sword, your shield can reach the Mirror Shield, and bombs and seeds gain capacity. The Biggoron secrets add a second, larger sword, and the Heart Container from the Fairy secret raises your maximum hearts. The equipment ranks are listed on the Items and Equipment page.
