Gasha Seed Locations

Soft soil spots16, each one planted with a Gasha Seed.
Best spotsGoron Mountain and Tarm Ruins (rarity 3 to 5). Eyeglass Lake, Mt. Cucco in autumn (rarity 2 to 4).
RewardA Gasha Nut: mostly a magic ring, sometimes Rupees or a heart. Rarity 4 and 5 spots can also give a Piece of Heart.
Gasha SeedsFound in chests, from some NPCs and in the Maku Tree, and bought in Horon Village and the Subrosian Market.

A Gasha Seed grows into a Gasha Tree after you plant it in soft soil, and the tree eventually bears one Gasha Nut. Cutting the nut makes the tree wither, so plant a new seed right away if you want another. The spot you plant in sets the rarity of the reward, so the best places are the rarity 3 to 5 soil on Goron Mountain and in Tarm Ruins. Soil spots with rarity 1 or 2 only give the two lowest tiers of rings.

How a Gasha Tree grows

Plant the Gasha Seed by standing on soft soil, choosing Plant when the prompt appears, and picking the seed from your Seed Satchel. Stand on the soft soil and the seed takes root there.

The tree grows as you defeat enemies and then bears its nut after a while. Harvest it by cutting the tree with your sword. A nut falls out, and you crack it open to see the reward.

Use the Discovery Ring to make soft soil easier to find. It sounds a tone when you walk onto a screen with soft soil, and it is covered on the magical rings page.

The spots in detail

Horon Village and Horon North

Two spots sit close to the start of the game. The first is outside the mayor’s residence in Horon Village. The second is north of Impa’s house in Horon North. Both have rarity 1 to 2, so they are good early plantings for common rings.

Woods of Winter

Plant a seed north of the Like Like lair, just southeast of a small lake. The spot is rarity 1 to 2.

Holodrum Plain

There are two spots here. The riverside spot is rarity 1 to 3. The islet spot needs Zora’s Flippers to reach, and it is also rarity 1 to 3.

Spool Swamp

Two spots sit near the floodgate: one on the west side and one in the southwest corner close to the Subrosian gate. The west spot is rarity 1 to 2, and the southwest spot is rarity 1 to 3.

Sunken City

The soft soil here is reached with Zora’s Flippers or by riding Dimitri. It is rarity 1 to 2.

Goron Mountain

This is one of the two best spots in the game, at rarity 3 to 5. It is worth the climb, because a Gasha Nut from a high-rarity tree can hold a Piece of Heart.

Mt. Cucco, from Goron Mountain

The soil on Mt. Cucco is reached from Goron Mountain. It is rarity 1 to 2.

Eyeglass Lake

Plant near the dungeon entrance at the lake. This spot is rarity 2 to 4.

Mt. Cucco in autumn

The soft soil on Mt. Cucco works only in autumn. It is rarity 2 to 4, so plan a trip in that season.

Tarm Ruins

This is the other best spot, at rarity 3 to 5. It sits in Tarm Ruins, the region the Lost Woods chapter covers.

Samasa Desert

Plant in the east part of the desert. The spot is rarity 1 to 3.

Western Coast

Plant the soil south of the graveyard on the Western Coast. It is rarity 1 to 2.

Temple Remains

Plant at the entrance to Temple Remains. The spot is rarity 1 to 3.
