Minigames

Oracle of Seasons has two minigames. The Subrosian Dance Hall is a copy-the-moves game that pays out in items. Blaino’s Gym is a fist fight in a ring, and winning it gives you Ricky’s Gloves. Only the prizes that two written sources agree on are listed here.

Subrosian Dance Hall

The Dance Hall is in Subrosia, which you reach through the portal in the Mt. Cucco highlands.

Play the dance

Walk into the Dance Hall and ask to join the practice. The leader shows a sequence of moves, and you copy them. Each win moves you to the next round, and the tempo rises as you go.

First win: the Boomerang

Winning the dance the first time gives you the Boomerang. Two written sources agree on this prize.

Later wins

Each win after the first pays 50 Ore Chunks, as the Dance Hall chapters show. Some sources also list a Strange Flute as a later prize, which can be turned into a companion flute; see Animal Companions. This guide does not confirm which win gives the flute.

Blaino’s Gym

Blaino’s Gym is in North Horon. From the Scent Seed tree, walk east, then south one screen, and follow the signpost to the red-roofed gym.

Enter the bout

Talk to Blaino and accept the 10 Rupee bet. Once you step into the ring, your items and rings are taken away and you fight with your fists only. If you use an item or break the rules during the bout, you pay a 20 Rupee penalty for a rematch.

Win the bout

Punch Blaino whenever his guard drops, dodge his big swings and keep at him until he is knocked out of the ring. He admits you are the champion and gives you Ricky’s Gloves. Your items come back when the bout ends, and the 10 Rupee bet is lost.

Use the gloves

Take Ricky’s Gloves to Ricky, who waits in a clearing on the Holodrum Plain, to make him your companion. Read Animal Companions for the other two.
