| Seed types | 5: Ember, Scent, Pegasus, Gale and Mystery |
|---|---|
| Carried in | Seed Satchel (starts at 20 of each type, up to 99) |
| Fired from | Seed Shooter (found in the Moonlit Grotto, Level 3) |
| First seed | Ember Seeds, given with the Seed Satchel by the Maku Tree in the present |
| Satchel upgrades | 2 (50, then 99 per type); the second needs a Linking Secret |
Mystical Seeds are the small items that burn bushes, bounce off walls, freeze enemies and carry you across Labrynna. You need the Seed Satchel to hold them and the Seed Shooter to fire them, and you get both early in the game. Each seed type comes from its own Mystical Tree, and the Gale Seed warp lets you reach any tree you have already visited.
The Seed Satchel and Seed Shooter
Seed Satchel (present, Maku Tree)
After you clear the Maku Path and return to the present, walk north in Lynna City to the Maku Tree. She gives you the Seed Satchel with 20 Ember Seeds already inside. Set the satchel to the A or B button to use it. Other seed types are added to the same bag as you collect them.

Seed Shooter (Moonlit Grotto, present)
The Seed Shooter is the dungeon item of the Moonlit Grotto on Crescent Island, Level 3. Its chest sits on a green pad in a room with a red diamond switch in the floor. Step on the switch to bring up the chest, or defeat the enemies in the room if it does not appear. A seed fired from the Seed Shooter bounces off walls at the angle you aim, so it can reach switches and enemies behind cover. The Seed Shooter is a separate item from the satchel and sits on one of your button slots.

Seed Satchel upgrades
Talk to Tingle a second time after he gives you the Island Chart. He offers to enlarge your satchel, and accepting raises the limit from 20 to 50 seeds of each type. If you have not chosen Ricky as your animal companion, you need the Seed Shooter to reach Tingle again. The second upgrade, from 50 to 99, is a Linking Secret: enter the Deku Secret in a linked game, which you can carry over from Oracle of Seasons. Both upgrades can be made in either order.

The five seed types
| Seed | Era | Region | How to get it | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ember Seed | Present | Lynna City | Maku Tree, with the Seed Satchel | Burns bushes and trees, lights torches, sets enemies on fire |
| Mystery Seed | Past | Deku Forest | Shake the Mystery Tree (18 seeds on the first visit) | Random effect; wakes Owl Statues for hints |
| Scent Seed | Present | Crescent Island | Scent Tree on the seaside (18 seeds after planting) | Attracts monsters; a thrown seed hurts enemies |
| Pegasus Seed | Past | Northwest Rolling Ridge | Pegasus Tree (18 seeds) | Speeds Link up; freezes enemies it hits |
| Gale Seed | Present | Symmetry City | Gale Tree in a small grassy square (18 seeds) | Warps Link to a tree; blows enemies away |
Ember Seeds
Ember Seeds are the first seeds you own. The Ember Tree south of Lynna City grows in both eras, so you can pick seeds there in either. Burn the lone tree beside the water on the Deku Forest path to uncover a staircase.

Mystery Seeds
In the past, stand beside the Mystery Tree in Deku Forest and hit it with your sword. It drops 18 Mystery Seeds, and the tree produces more later. An Owl Statue beside the tree wakes up when a Mystery Seed touches it and gives a hint. The Mystery Seed effect is random, so it can produce another seed’s effect. A Subrosian beside the Mystery Tree on East Rolling Ridge in the past also has a Linking Secret for you.

Scent Seeds and the Scent Seedling
The Scent Tree on Crescent Island is the seaside tree in the present. Its seeds attract monsters, which makes them useful for luring Like Likes and Ropes. To get the tree, win the first prize in the Wild Tokay game in the past, which gives you the Scent Seedling. Plant the seedling in the island’s tree nursery in the past. Scent trees take centuries to mature, so the seeds you pick in the present are from that planting.

Pegasus Seeds
Pegasus Trees exist only in the past. The one you need stands in the northwest corner of Rolling Ridge. Cut the bushes and shake the tree to collect 18 seeds. Pegasus Seeds let you dash across crumbling floors, charge shoulder-bash blocks, and jump farther with the Roc’s Feather. Keep a few in your satchel for the Crown Dungeon.

Gale Seeds
In the present, cut the bushes beside the Gale Tree in Symmetry City to uncover a dormant time portal. Pick 18 Gale Seeds from the tree in the same square. A Gale Seed warps you to any Mystical Tree you have visited before, so after the first trip to each tree you can return to it quickly from anywhere.

Seed trees by era
Labrynna has eight Mystical Trees. Most of them exist only in the past and vanish in the present, so you will often plant or harvest in one era and return in the other. The trees below are the ones you reach in the course of the game.
| # | Tree | Era | Region | How to reach it | Seeds |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Ember Tree | Both | South of Lynna City | Walk south of the city in either era | Ember |
| 2 | Mystery Tree | Past | Deku Forest | Far end of the Deku Forest path | Mystery |
| 3 | Mystery Tree | Past | East Rolling Ridge (pink ridge) | Pink ridge beside the Subrosian | Mystery |
| 4 | Scent Tree | Present | Crescent Island (seaside) | Vines in the present, after planting the Scent Seedling | Scent |
| 5 | Pegasus Tree | Past | Northwest Rolling Ridge | Cut the bushes in the northwest corner | Pegasus |
| 6 | Gale Tree | Both | Symmetry City | Small grassy square, in the present | Gale |
Once you have visited a tree, a Gale Seed can warp you back to it from any outdoor spot.
