Return to the roof of the Temple of Time on the Great Sky Island and talk to the Steward Construct. Light all three bonfires on the island, without ever touching the ground, and be back on the temple roof within 12 in-game hours (the deadline is the 7:00 PM bell if you start in the morning). Bring Fire Fruit arrows and a way to fly, and you earn Zonai Fabric.
Walkthrough
Talk to the Steward Construct
Climb to the roof of the Temple of Time and talk to the Steward Construct beside the column of light. It explains that you must light the three fires on the island and return within the time limit, without setting foot on any ground other than the roof. Accept the ceremony when you are ready; if you fail, talk to it to try again.
Light the first fire
Leave the roof by air. The easiest method is the Zora Armor: swim up the waterfalls on the small raised islands to regain height and stamina (water counts as safe, and running out of stamina in water returns you to the roof without failing). Wear cold protection, because the island’s east side is cold, and fuse Fire Fruit or Fire Keese Wings to arrows. A Zonai vehicle built from Fans, or a glide off the temple combined with the island’s waterfalls, keeps you off the ground. Fly to the nearest fire pit and shoot a Fire Fruit arrow, or land the vehicle on a stone platform and throw a fire source onto the wood. The bonfire catches and the quest log counts down the fires left.
Light the other two fires
Take the second fire on the far side of the island, then the third on the snowy side on the left. Each can be lit from the air or while standing on the stone ring around it. Every fire pit is a stone ring holding wood, so a single fire arrow is enough. The log tells you how many remain.
Return to the temple roof
Fly back to the Temple of Time and land on its roof before the bell at 7:00 PM. Use the waterfall in front of the temple, or your vehicle, to gain height. The Steward Construct acknowledges the ceremony as soon as you stand on the roof.
Receive the Zonai Fabric
The construct tells you how the Temple of Time and the island were lifted into the sky to keep them safe, then presents you with Zonai Fabric. Take it to the Kochi Dye Shop in Hateno Village to dye your paraglider with it.
Rewards
You receive Zonai Fabric, a paraglider fabric decorated with the Zonai crest.
Tips
- Touching the ground, or running out of time, fails the trial; talk to the construct to restart it.
- Prepare several Fire Fruit before you start, and keep enough Zonai Charges for your vehicle’s Fans.
