My Fairy is a mode where you raise Companion Fairies that fight beside your warriors. You get your first fairy by finding one hidden in a jar during an Adventure Mode battle. After that you feed it in the Dining Room, dress it in the Salon, teach it rental skills in the School, and take it into any Legend Mode scenario or Adventure Mode battle to use Fairy Magic.

How to get fairies
Fairies hide in jars inside enemy keeps in Adventure Mode battles. Break jars as you capture keeps, and a fairy that appears becomes your companion. You can befriend many fairies, but each warrior takes only one into a battle, so collect several to cover your whole team. Fairies belong to one of the five elements: Fire, Water, Lightning, Light or Darkness.

Three fairies have fixed names: Loyla, a Darkness fairy on the Adventure Map, Neris, a Light fairy on the Koholint Island Map, and Becka, a Water fairy on the Grand Travels Map. Every other fairy gets a random name of up to eight letters drawn from names that suit its element. See Adventure Mode for the maps.

Using Fairy Magic in battle
Bring a fairy into a fight and press the Right Stick when the icon under the Magic gauge glows. The magic uses up the gauge, and the effect grows stronger as the fairy rises in level. Because it spends the same gauge as Focus Spirit, decide which one to save the gauge for.

Companion fairies are separate from the Great Fairy of Legend Mode. In several scenarios a Fairy Fountain keep opens during the battle, and you are told to use the Magic Circle there so that the Great Fairy lends her strength to your army. That is a story event of the scenario, not part of My Fairy, and it does not use your companion fairy at all.

Dining Room: food and levels
Fairy levels
Fairies gain levels as you feed them and as they fight alongside you, and a higher level makes their magic stronger and lets them join harder battles. The cap is level 99. A fairy that reaches it can be revived, which sends it back to level 1 and lets you rename it and change one of its personality traits.

Food tiers
Food comes in bronze, silver and gold versions, shown in the game as food, tasty food and delicious food. Delicious food has the biggest effect. Before a food tier can drop from enemies you must find it once in an Adventure Mode battle. After that, captains drop bronze and silver food, while warriors and giant bosses drop silver and gold food. Higher difficulty also improves the chance of better food.

Personality traits
Each fairy has ten possible personality traits: Aspiring, Dizzy, Eager, Friendly, Relaxed, Resolute, Shrewd, Smiley, Sparkly and Valiant. A fairy can only keep five of them at a time. Every food raises some traits and lowers one or more others. Plain food adds 2 to three traits and subtracts 1 from one. Tasty food adds 5 to two traits, 2 to two others, and subtracts 2 from one. Delicious food adds 10 to one trait, 5 to two and 2 to two, but it subtracts 2 from two traits and 5 from another.

Each food belongs to a type, Feast, Weird, Drink, Plant or Fish, and to an element. When the food and the fairy share the same type, the bonuses grow (a 10 becomes 12, a 5 becomes 6, a 2 becomes 3) and the penalties shrink, so a fairy never loses points from food of its own type unless it is a gold food with a 5 penalty. The traits you choose to raise decide which rental skills the fairy can learn.

A trait the fairy does not have can be added when you refresh it at level 99. Hard skills like Material Master and Weapon Master need four traits, while basic ones need two.

Salon: fairy clothes
The Salon lets you dress a fairy in clothing that changes its stats. The categories are tops, bottoms, headgear, accessories and decorations. Tops give an element Damage Up effect, such as Water Damage Up for a Zora Tunic or Lightning Damage Up for a Sheikah Shirt, and bottoms give an element Cost Down effect, such as Light Cost Down for Kokiri Shorts. Many pieces are styled after famous outfits, including Link’s tunic, Zelda’s dress, the Fused Shadow and Fi’s shawl.

Fairy clothes are found in treasure chests that appear when you capture keeps in Adventure Mode battles, and some come with downloadable content packs. Match the clothes to the fairy’s element to get the most from the Damage Up and Cost Down effects.

Party and names
Party is a two-player option for sharing a fairy ability with a friend over a local connection. You can name a fairy when you first get it. After that, its name cannot change until it reaches level 99 and is refreshed.
