Facilities and shops open one at a time through quests on the Hyrule map. The Hylian Blacksmith Guild is the one that matters most: it fuses weapons, raises their level limit and removes seals, and it opens with the quest Brawny Blacksmiths once you have cleared Road to the Ancient Lab. The Military Training Camp and Meditative Training handle leveling, six shops sell materials, and the Sheikah Sensor tells you where things you still need can be found. This page lists how each one opens, what it does and what its upgrades are.

Quick reference

Open the Quests menu on the Hyrule map to find an unlock quest, hand in the materials, and the facility card appears on the map. The table gives the quest, the requirement and the reward for every facility and shop; the sections after it explain what each does.

Hylian Blacksmith Guild

Hylian Blacksmith Guild

The Guild is run by Cedro, the blacksmith at the Rauru Settlement, and opens with the Central Hyrule quest Brawny Blacksmiths, which needs five Ironshroom and unlocks once Road to the Ancient Lab is cleared. Select a warrior, then a weapon, and pick one of the Guild’s services: Fuse Weapons, Sell Weapons, Raise Weapon-Level Limit, Remove Seals and, later, repairing rusty weapons.

Fusing weapons

Fusion feeds spare weapons of the same warrior into the weapon you want to improve. The spare weapons are consumed, only the first skill of each one carries over, and the weapon you are improving must have a free skill slot. Weapons are locked to a warrior, so Link and Mipha cannot share spears. A common plan is to level a weapon to 19 with unsealed fodder, then finish it to 20 with weapons that share its seal. See the weapons page for the seals worth keeping.

Raising the weapon-level limit

Weapons start capped at level 20. The first quest, A Monumental Undertaking, unlocks after Relentless as a Waterfall and raises the limit to 25; it needs Luminous Stone x3, Moblin Fang x30, Lynel Horn x5, Moblin Trophy x20 and Stone Talus Trophy x1. The Legendary Blacksmith raises it to 30 and needs Hinox Trophy x4, Stone Talus Trophy x1, Lynel Trophy x4, Molduga Trophy x1 and Ethereal Stone x2. With the Expansion Pass, the lab quest Working with the Blacksmith Guild raises it to 50.

Removing seals

Two quests add seal removal. Caring for the Statues, in Gerudo after Air and Lightning, lets you remove a seal you choose; it needs Lynel Horn x5, Hinox Tooth x5, Moblin Fang x50, Lizalfos Horn x50 and Lynel Trophy x2. Secret of the Rito Artisans, in Hebra, removes all seals from a weapon; it needs Opal x3, Amber x3, Diamond x1, Bokoblin Trophy x500 and Hinox Trophy x2. In the Expansion Pass lab, The Deal with Seals adds the ability to remove hidden seals.

Octo-Polish and rusty gear

The quest From Rusty to Trusty unlocks after Freeing Korok Forest and lets Cedro repair Rusty Gear for ores, monster parts and trophies plus 225 Rupees. It needs Octorok Tentacle x1, Octorok Eyeball x1, Octo Balloon x2 and Octorok Trophy x10. The follow-up quests Better Rust-Busting and Road to Rust Research make repaired weapons stronger.

Military Training Camp

Rubeo’s camp in the Great Hyrule Forest opens with the quest Entrance Test, which needs any two Chapter 2 battles to be cleared plus Moblin Trophy x5, Lizalfos Trophy x50 and Bokoblin Trophy x200. It raises a warrior’s level for Rupees, up to the level of your highest-level character, and the fee grows with the level. The quest Tactics for Small Foes (Chuchu Jelly x3, Octo Balloon x5, Keese Eyeball x5, Keese Trophy x50 and Chuchu Trophy x20) gives a discount, and The Instructor’s Problem and Facing Powerful Enemies (after the Challenge Coliseum: Expert) discount it further.

Meditative Training

Meditative Training at the Sage Temple opens with the Central Hyrule quest Relief for Soldier Stress, which needs only Hyrule Herb x3 once Revali, the Rito Warrior is cleared. It is a practice room with endless Bokoblins and Moblins where you take no damage, your Special-Attack Gauge refills and your rods never run dry. You gain no experience or items, so use it to learn combos and special attacks, as described on the combat and controls page.

Hyrule map and the lab

Hyrule map

The Hyrule map is the hub: battle icons, quest givers, shops and facility cards all sit on it, grouped by region. Press L and R to switch lists, and use the right stick to zoom. After Akkala Tower, nine Contribution Level quests appear, one for each region plus All Hyrule: The Hope of All Hyrule, Central Hyrule, Hebra, Akkala, Eldin, Lanayru, Necluda, Faron and Gerudo. Each rewards materials and a piece of gear for finishing every quest in that region, and the first (All Hyrule) gives the Hyrule Warrior’s Cap, Tunic and Trousers.
