How to find Koroks
What hides a Korok
A Korok is never standing in the open. Look for flowers and flower trails, pinwheels and windmills, tree stumps and logs, sparkling or glowing patches of ground, wooden boxes and crates, bombable rocks and walls, and floating balloons, pumpkins or fruit. Walk up to the spot and press Y: a short close-up shows the Korok popping out of a stump or rock in a green glow, and the seed is added to your total. A Korok you have found stays out in the open on later visits, so you can tell at a glance what is left in a battle.

Runes you need
Many Koroks need a Sheikah Slate rune. Bomb a cracked rock or wall with a Remote Bomb, use Stasis on a floating balloon or target and then hit it, and shoot flying fruit or pumpkins out of the air with a bow or similar ranged attack. In stages with many outposts it is easiest to sweep each corner while the enemy count is low.

Korok Sensor and the counter quest
Some weapons carry a hidden seal that detects Koroks nearby. The Tree Branch and Maracas (Lv 30) and the Forest Dweller’s Sword, Shaka Maracas, Benevolent Spring, Forest Dweller’s Spear and Ancient Overclock Unit (Lv 25) all have one. The quest “A Most Peculiar Korok” becomes available after you finish Good Cheer, costs 5 Korok Seeds plus 5 each of the four wing butterflies, and adds the number of Koroks in each battle to the Battle Info screen. Do it early, because it tells you which battles you have already finished.

Korok Seeds in the story battles
This table gives every story battle with its Korok total. The sections after it describe each location. Together the 20 battles hold 122 Koroks.

The Battle of Hyrule Field (7)
Seven Koroks hide in the opening battle, all reachable in one run. One is inside a wooden box beside a rock wall, one in a flower trail between two trees west of the western outpost’s southern gates, and one at the fallen log in the grass beside the stone wall on the fortified road. Another is in the flowers by the castle town gate wall, and a balloon floats over the middle of the Ranch (hit it with a sword or an arrow). A plant in the grass on the dirt road between the rock outcrops hides one more, and the last is the green pinwheel on the wooden deck of Owlan Bridge.

Road to the Ancient Lab (6)
Six Koroks are spread along the route. The first is in a flower beside the path while you escort Zelda down the road. Then look for the stump beside the planks of the broken barricade, the flower on the grass by the rock ledge at the lake, and a Korok in the tall grass on the hill past the wooden watchtower. The green pinwheel on the cracked ground beside the sandy platform hides another, and the last stands on the planks of the wooden walkway leading to the Unearthed Guardian.

Mipha, the Zora Princess (4)
Four Koroks, each a short detour. Climb a staircase beside the starting plaza and shoot down the balloon at the top. After the captains are rescued and the Electric Moblin falls, leave the southeastern outpost by its north exit and find the pinwheel in the tall grass beside a tree. On the road to Ploymus Mountain, follow the wooden spiked fence into the grass for a flower-headed Korok before the Electric Wizzrobe fight. The last is at the blue urn on the plaza bridge rail.

Daruk, the Goron Hero (8)
The first is on the rocky ground in front of the green-roofed Goron camp at the start. Others are on the cracked ground beside the rock wall of the far southeast outpost and on the rocky ground just inside the east gate of the central outpost. After the Moblins to the south fall, search the canyon floor beside the lava river. On the climb up Death Mountain, look beside the wooden crate on the left of the path, then beside the red arrow sign at the hot springs. Later, once the last outpost is taken and the first Igneo Talus is down, cross the long wooden bridge on the western path and check the rock wall on the right. The last is the glowing dirt on the right side across the bridge Daruk lowers after the Fire Moblins fall.

Revali, the Rito Warrior (8)
Head north and collect them in order. First is the green sprout in the grass of the misty road just after the start, then the glowing ground under the wooden platform past the wall jump, then the green glow beside the rocks during the archer fight. Next are the round stump in the snowy field past the stone arch and the green glow on the snowy rock by the big boulders. On the slope toward Rito Village, look in the grass by the rocks, and then under the wooden walkway just before the village. The last is behind the boulder against the east wall at the northern dead end: blow it up with a Remote Bomb.

Urbosa, the Gerudo Chief (9)
Start on the south approach: blow open the rock pile to the southeast with a Remote Bomb, and check the shadowed rock cleft as you pass. Just south of Gerudo Town, break the box beside the cannonball cart, then follow the rock gully on the sand to a flower at its end. Inside the town, one is in the stone alley past the barrels, and another sits at the foot of the stone wall by the gate, where a red flower grows. Outside Urbosa’s throne room, climb onto the sunlit palace roof for another. From the gate leading north, cross the desert northwest to the broken sandstone blocks where sparkles rise from the sand, and last, shoot down the flying fruit at the south end of the open stretch of desert in the northwest.

The Yiga Clan Attacks! (8)
Start in the south: a glowing point in the grass of the front garden of the southernmost house, beside the wooden benches, a yellow flower at the southeastern tip, and a leaf-carved stump by the hay bales east of the outpost with the well. Then a Korok by a small wooden stool among the southwest buildings, a leaf-faced Korok in the grass on the dirt ground between the village houses, and a yellow flower beside a pile of rocks on the dirt road toward the Hyrule Garrison. The seventh is the leaf-carved stump in the graveyard south of the northern outpost (not the boss’s), and the last hides in the grass in front of the rock pile by the wooden fence at the village edge.

Freeing Korok Forest (10)
Break the crates behind the start, then take the flower by the wall near the tent past the gates. A pinwheel is on the northern wall before the first trunk, and the Korok in the tall grass beside the torch-lit wooden gate comes before the second trunk. At the second trunk, go east for the pinwheel in the grass below the rock ledge. Follow the rocky path past the Stalnox remains for a Korok in the tall grass. In the Malice swamp, find the Korok among the red trunks past the torch-lit fence, a yellow flower among the rocks with a Korok in the grass beside it, and another yellow flower in the tall grass. The last hides in the grass on the rocky ground past the wooden fence on the misty dirt path.

The Road Home, Besieged (3)
One Korok waits in the grass beside a wooden fence and rock outcrop on the road past the skull-topped watchtower. A second is behind a pile of rocks on the plain past the wooden gate; detonate a Remote Bomb on the pile to open it. The third is to the left of the final area where you fight the Stone Taluses, so collect it before the fight.

Akkala Tower (5)
Check the pink pinwheel on the floor of the small stone fort at the start, and the grass beside the rock wall in the far north once the third furnace is lit. In the autumn forest to the southeast, press Y beside the tree stump. Inside the citadel, there is a pinwheel between two cannons on the courtyard wall, and a glowing spot on the wooden floor upstairs after the first Sooga fight.

Destroy the Yiga Clan! (8)
On the sand at the start, slash the tall grass on the dune for a red sprout Korok, and hit the floating red balloon near the entrance to find another. In the corridor to the first outpost, inspect the shining spot on the ground, then the pinwheel in the crate hall past the spear hall and the next stairs, and the crate in the lantern-lit corridor after the stairway. Halfway down the stairway toward the scout there is another pinwheel, and the glowing spot on the cave floor past the next staircase hides one. The last is in the room after Sooga: strike the ground in front of the wooden crates.

When Courage Fails (5)
Bomb the third tree to reveal a flower and inspect it. In the western area, freeze the floating balloon target with Stasis and hit it. The eastern area has a sparkle in the water, the southwest has a Korok in a crate, and on the escape run a pale stump in the ferns has a green Korok sitting on top.

Calamity Strikes (7)
The first is on the grass just off the garden path on the way to the Sanctum. In the throne room, look among the broken wood and rubble after the Guardian fight, then break the crate in the same area. A crate on the library’s top level near the south exit holds one, and a dead-end room north of the dining room hides another. On the escape run, blow open the cracked wall in the dark corridor with a Remote Bomb. The last is in the side room with a lit brazier just before the White-Maned Lynel fight.

Water and Fire (3)
On the rush to Vah Rudania, look against the red rock wall beside the route. In the south, follow the path to a treasure chest and break the crate beside it; the Korok is in the grass just below. The third is in the grass past the shrub beside the dirt path under the big tree: slash the shrub while you search for a way past the Malice swamp.

Air and Lightning (5)
During the White-Maned Lynel fight, one stands in the open grass among purple flowers, and another pops out beside a dark log during the Fire Moblin fight. A tree stump on the wet ground near the northern updraft hides one. Ride the updraft beside it to a small area with a floating target: freeze it with Stasis and hit it. The last is on the lava-lit rock slope to the left of the path just before the final updraft.

Relentless as a Waterfall (6)
Follow the path toward the friendly outpost, past the lava, for the first Korok on the rocky ground beside it, then check the ground in the lava-lit field just below the far southeast outpost. In the citadel, a pinwheel sits by the railing of the small wooden balcony reached from the northern hallway. After Mipha heals the captains, smash the crate by the wall in the circular room, then drop to the lower ring for a Korok by the glowing light. The last is on the round tree stump in the dark cave south of the citadel.

Each Step Like Thunder (4)
Early in the Fort Hateno fight, follow the path past the burning fallen tree and stone ruins for a Korok in the glowing ground. Another is at the tree stump by the rock wall of the far western outpost. In the northeast, a leafy sprout sits beside a treasure chest, and the last is the yellow flower below the rock cliff at the east-southeast outpost.

The Great Plateau (7)
In the southeast, check the grass near the ruins, and later bomb the rocks on the north-western wall with a Remote Bomb. A large tree with a flower in the northernmost area hides another. On the way to the Temple of Time, a Korok stands on the paved courtyard beside the ivy-covered wall, and a crate at the end of a blocked path north of the temple hides another. After the Shrine of Resurrection, look in the tall grass at the foot of the cliff straight ahead, and at the tree stump to the south.

All Hyrule, United (6)
At the dead end south of the southwest outpost, freeze the Korok balloon with Stasis and pop it. A tree stump beside a carriage at the end of the northeast path from the southeast outpost holds one, and the pinwheel north of the ranch buildings by the wooden fence another. Look at the foot of the wooden house wall in the east garden dead end and at the flower by the river at the map’s east edge. The last is at the foot of the stone wall behind the northwest outpost, and only appears after the Blood Moon revival and the arrival of the Champions.

The Future of Hyrule (3)
Turn about 180 degrees to the right at the start for a flower. Along the east side, a Korok bursts from green light beside a low stone wall and pedestal at the lava’s edge. The third is the pink flower on the cobblestones of the south fork of the inner east path.

Korok Seeds in challenges
Eleven challenges hold 12 Koroks, and Elemental Uproar has two. These stages are short, so the Koroks are quick to sweep once the first waves are cleared. Hunting Partners also pays 5 Korok Seeds for a first clear, so it is worth doing for both reasons.

| Challenge | Koroks |
|---|---|
| Mipha’s Training | 1 |
| Cross the Hebra Mountains | 1 |
| Anti-Ice Training: II | 1 |
| Innkeeper’s Request | 1 |
| Winged Escort | 1 |
| Defend Zora’s Domain | 1 |
| Elemental Uproar | 2 |
| Polishing His Technique | 1 |
| Hair-Width Trial: Expert+ | 1 |
| Hunting Partners | 1 |
| Defend Hyrule Castle | 1 |
Seeds as rewards
These are not hidden Koroks, but are Korok Seeds handed over for clears: Hestu’s Training gives 3 on a first clear, and Escape the Lost Woods, Forest Dance Festival, Hunting Partners and Hold the Line give 5 each. The quest Helping with Heights, which opens after you clear Each Step Like Thunder, pays another 15. These do not count toward the 134.

What Korok Seeds are for
Seeds are handed in at the Hyrule map for quests and are not used anywhere else. Collecting every Korok earns no special reward, but the quests give permanent upgrades. The big ones are weapon capacity: More Rattle, More Dance! (1 seed, +1), Good Cheer (5, +2), Parade for the Champions (8, +3), Forest Minuet (13, +3), Birthday Waltz (15, +2), The Sweetest Salsa (24, +2), Gerudo Canyon Festival (28, +3) and Fantastic Flamenco (35, +4 weapon capacity and +1 apple capacity). The Korok Ballet (2) adds one apple. It Takes Two (20) adds a Rod use, and The Lonely Goddess (5) gives every character +3 hearts. Hestu’s Frown-Reversal Magic (1) and It’s Shakala Time (9) improve his combo and special-attack gauge, and two quests that award Terrako Components also take seeds. See Quests for the full list.
