The Yiga Clan Attacks! is the last battle of Chapter 2. The Yiga Clan hits the village with a huge force while your champions are gathered there. You must fight off the raid, fetch help from the Hyrule Garrison, capture two outposts, and defeat a Hinox before Link faces the Yiga leader Sooga. Clearing it opens Chapter 3 and a wave of new quests.

Before you start

You need to have cleared all four champion battles first: Mipha, Daruk, Revali and Urbosa. Aim for about level 16, bring a cooked meal for extra experience or movement speed, and fuse your best weapons first, since you face several Moblins and Wizzrobes back to back.

Swap between your allies often with the character-switch control. The map is wide, and you regularly need fighters in two places at once.

Defend the village from the Yiga Clan

Defeat the Yiga Blademasters

You open as Zelda in the middle of the village while Sooga tells his followers to go after the princess. Cut through the Yiga Footsoldiers pouring in, then hunt down the two Yiga Blademasters. The objective counter shows 0/2, so find and defeat both.

Blademasters strike in quick bursts and use Flurry Rush patterns. Dodge their rushes, then hit the weak-point gauge when it appears and finish with a Weak-Point Smash. A tip appears for flying with Revali, which lets you reach enemy groups scattered around the town.

Moblin

Defeat the Moblins at the gate

After the Yiga break, Moblins attack the gate. Switch to a champion near it and defeat the Moblin guarding the approach. When the objective changes to heading for the Hyrule Garrison to request reinforcements, you know the village cannot hold on its own.

Reach the Hyrule Garrison

Run north and beat the Blue Moblins

Run toward the garrison with the Hylian soldiers escorting you. Blue Moblins hit harder than regular Moblins, so fight them one at a time, dodge their swings, and punish them after a heavy attack. A Fire Wizzrobe also appears on this stretch; defeat it before it can fill the ground with fire.

Near the garrison, a second pair of Blue Moblins keep the soldiers pinned. Defeat them to continue; the objective then becomes defeating the Electric Moblin and key enemies.

Defeat the Elemental Moblins

The Electric Moblin comes first, followed by a Fire Moblin and an Ice Moblin, with Yiga soldiers and Wizzrobes fighting alongside them. Their attacks leave hazards, so keep moving and attack from the side. Use Special Attacks here to clear the crowd.

Capture the outposts

Soldiers report that the enemy leader has been spotted at the northern outpost, and your allies agree on a pincer attack. Capture the eastern and western outposts first. The objective counter shows 0/2, so send one fighter to each side and defeat the Blue Moblins and Yiga Blademasters defending them.

Pick up the food that fallen monsters drop, such as Stamella Shrooms, Mighty Thistle and Mighty Bananas, to keep your health up. After you take both outposts, the enemy panics and abandons its camp, and the objective becomes heading for the enemy stronghold.

A Hinox steps forward in a cutscene, with stone ruins behind it

Hinox boss fight

As you approach the stronghold, a Hinox rises out of the dark. It will wreck the town if it gets there, so fight it on the field. It is a large enemy with a health bar and a weak-point gauge.

A Hinox stands in the field near the enemy stronghold as Daruk complains about it

Stay at medium range and dodge its fist slam and log swing. A Sheikah Slate rune (R), such as Stasis, Magnesis or Cryonis, can leave it open for attacks. When the gauge is exposed, finish it with a Weak-Point Smash. A SUCCESS message confirms the kill, after which you realize the raid was a decoy and the village is burning.

Link fights off Yiga Footsoldiers around Zelda under the Protect Zelda banner

Sooga boss fight

Control switches to Link, whose objective is to approach Zelda. Defeat the Yiga Footsoldiers around her, then chase Sooga through the village. He teleports, throws projectiles and summons Yiga symbols.

Sooga's name bar shows as Link aims his bow at the Yiga leader in the village

Do not rely on head-on attacks, since Sooga answers many of them with a counter. Instead, time your dodges, strike while he recovers, and use Weak-Point Smash when his gauge appears. After a short cutscene in which Sooga and Link face off, the battle ends with the victory card.
